When debating with the Sadducees about the afterlife revealed that whether you like it or not, marriage is not allowed in heaven.

Maybe you're right. Maybe there is so marriage in Heaven. But that doesn't mean that the love for our spouses still won't be present and that we won't recognize them.

Matthew 22:23-30 New International Version (NIV)
Marriage
23 That same day the Sadducees, who say there is no to came to him with a question. 24 “Teacher,” they said, “Moses told us that if a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and raise up offspring for him. 25 Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to his brother. 26 The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh. 27 Finally, the woman died. 28 Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?” 29 Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30 At the resurrection people will neither marry or be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

This is why the marriage contract ends with death. This is why the term til death do you part. Because you can remarry after your spouse dies. It also means that when you die, you are no longer married. You become like an angel that can't and never marries. I guess men and women just become the bride of Christ while also resting in Abraham's bosom and watching people in hell like the homeless Lazarus.

You actually missed the entire point of my post. I never disagreed with you.

I believe when we are changed from mortal to immortal, corruptible to incorruptible and gathered to Jesus, 1 Corinthians 15:51-54, there will be no more remembrance of our past lives as you have already given the scripture in Matthew 22:30 that people will neither marry or be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. Also in Isaiah 65:17-25 the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. In the New Jerusalem we are joined to Christ as our husband and we his bride. We have no idea of what we will look like, but will be like Christ 1 John 3:2. Flesh and blood can not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, 1 Corinthians 15:50.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

So are you saying that when Joe and I get to Heaven we won't remember that we were married and that we love each other? Now I'm really depressed. I still really want to go and see Jesus but, I want us to still recognize each other and love one another.
