There was a time I ignored God for sure. But I think deep down I knew He existed. It was a time of self delusion. I was pretending there wasnt a war going in inside. Despite my level of sinfulness and pride. I took and still do take advantage of His mercy.

No, I have always known there was a God, being brought up to attend Sunday school and church has that effect.
Also the simple arguement that nothing cannot make anything is self evidently true, which further reinforced the belief that there is a God.

Coming to trust him,is a different story.

If you think about it there really is no such thing as an atheist even if that is the label they want to carry in order to not believe there is a God. In order to deny there is a God they at one time have had to hear there was one in order to defend their claims. They will argue their defense, but yet engage in conversation with Christians as they ask questions about the God we believe in which leads to a curiosity that opens the door for them to start seeking that which they know nothing about. Many Christians had their beginnings being an atheist.

There are times in my life that I've considered the arguments that are presented against my belief in God. Things like "how do you know," and a follow up if you find an answer "how do you know that you know."

In that time I listened to the arguments and considered them without an answer yet (and without accepting their conclusions). But then I watched what God's done in my life. With some of those perspectives in the back of my mind somewhere, I was able to refute almost all of the perspectives that were used against my belief and my experiences of God being real and being active in our lives.

I think that means I was lucky. A few atheists I've met, say they've searched for an answer and searched for God. I don't know if they did or didn't so I'll take their word for it and consider myself lucky to know that God is real, and gave Him confirm it when I was asking for something else.

I was always a sceptic so I will always understand our atheist friends.

I believe in scripture and Jesus Christ, I come to that conclusion myself, and for the people who don't believe I know, I have been a sceptic myself.

There are many questions.

It's easy for others to plant doubt in our minds by their arguments against there being a God, but like you said, it's when we realize all that God has done in our own life is where we witness of those things to others.

People want proof and evidence for God's existence, and God could rearrange all the stars in the sky and write "I am God believe me", and sceptics would still say, it could have been aliens.

That's hilarious but true at exactly the same time. :rofl2

My parents were believers and Catholic and so I was raised in Catholic traditions. We prayed often, especially thanks before meals and bedtime prayers. In fact, my mother would have us kids (seven of us) kneel on the living room floor for our evening prayer time. I attended catechism classes, Catholic school, served as altar boy, sang in the church choir, never missed Sunday or Holy Days of Obligation mass, and during the Lenten season we attended mass and/or rosary services every week day. Even today, when I attend a Catholic mass I can still recite almost the entire liturgy from memory including the Priest's parts.

In about 1979, at about the age of 20 or so, I began to question what I had been taught. The prayers and liturgy I knew so well became nothing more than memorized phrases and words with no backbone meaning. I stopped going to mass, praying, and believing. In fact, although I wasn't flat out anti-God, while in college our English professor assigned an essay where we could choose the topic and I chose to discredit the Bible. He actually gave me an A on the essay for technical reasons but also told me he did not like or agree with what I wrote.

I began living a life that was less than ideal and at 23 years old I married my first wife who was a proclaimed atheist and still holds to this claim. We divorced after eight years and even today I now struggle to introduce my openly anti-God son and consequently my grandson to the Lord. I keep hoping that he will one day see Jesus in me and begin to rethink his eternity.

When I remarried in 1993, and my wife became pregnant, she suggested that we consider looking for a church. I agreed only to appease her but it also turned out to be the beginning of my walk back into the Father's arms.

Yep i rejected God, was an atheist for over 10 years.
Then i went from thinking "God may be real" to "God is real"
But it took another 10 years to develop that faith. I called myself agnostico

Now i see atheists are kind of stuck in a regressive thought process
Some will be objective enough to get beyond that and become agnostic

The agnostic usually wants to find God and i hope they do

May God help these people find their way to his heart.

I gfew up in the church but did not believe in God. Then I believed in a creator who had died. Then I believed maybe there was a God but he did not love me. Then I believed God saved me. Then I believed that God loved me and therefore I was lovable. Then I believed in Christ and that he was more than a prophet, had died for our sins and was resurrected. Here is the story of my first step out of agnosticism.

Amazing Grace

Thanks for the link to your story i really like reading peoples testimonies

I come from a non religious family, I mean not even a single person in my expanded family are religious, I was going to say don't believe in God but I think that's not really the case as I don't think anyone does not believe in God, even the devils believe, but people are just skeptics or lost with too much self pride focused on the fake world and what it has to offer in the name of man while not really seeking the truth.

I do not actually believe that there is such a thing as a disbeliever in God. Like an Atheist has a open mind, they are not anti God.

I'd have to disagree with that.
The new age atheists i come across online are very anti-God and very anti-Christian

So do they actually confess to you that God does not exist?, or do they just come across to you as very anti God and anti Christian?

People can attack the belief of God and and peoples faith as hard as they like but I have never known anyone to deny God's existence because they cannot. Not even the devils can do it. If anyone did the would have to have the IQ of a brick wall.

The definition of atheist is someone who doesn't believe in God
There is an atheist forum which I sometimes visit to see what they're talking about
They openly deny God and make fun of religion

There is a poll on there asking if they believe in God, well over 80% voted for no

Of course they are going to make fun of God and maybe try deny God because they are skeptics, but they are still curious. There are many people who have tried denied God only to come to the truth.

Deep down people don't acturaly deny, they just seeking truth and answers in a screwed up confused world so they just go on science that is the study of progress.

As I once said before God could rearrange all the stars in the sky and write "I am God" and they would still say it could have been aliens and want more evidence.
