I decided to post a thread with random science facts. Like for instance did you know that if you're out of breath and you start panting like a dog you can actually regain your breath faster? (I know this one from personal experience so go ahead and try it for yourself. :)) Also apparently if you think too much you can wind up dying sooner that later so I'm not even going to think that much to try and figure out why. :lol

Great idea!
Man, if that's true, I don't think I have much time left. :study

A torque converter unless the unit is locked is never a direct link, from the flywheel to the wheels.it uses tranny fluid to move the rotor, the torus grabs the fluid and shoots at the rotor, while the stator flows opposite to the torus and deflects the fluid ,the torus can be made under pressure to lock the other two into it and then it has a direct link.this is called a hydrostatic system.slip is allowed so that at idle the engine can run.

What?! Are you trying to send us to an early grave? (Hysterical laughing ). I'm safe. I let my eyes glaze over. Interesting fact though and when I was younger I actually would have listened and understood. However, since receiving this news about curbing in the thinking I thought I best err on the side of caution.

How a automatic transmission's torque converter allows. The engine to idle .
Nothing more.

The wye wound wiring of an alternator versus a delta wound one,the delta wound wiring will produce more amps

Automatic transmissions are the bee's knees. I wouldn't want to have to manually shift gears. The inventor of fluid couplings made cars better,
I prefer manual ,if i threw papers with a stick ,i would eat brakes yearly, yet. One can slow down with a manual even stop .plenty of semis drivers use the stick to slow down and stop.saves lining .plenty of dump trucks here use only that .those have clutch brakes where only need to use the clutch for first and reverse .most drivers power shift ,Eaton 10 speed ,5 in low. 5 in high.

Exactly. Shifting manually diverts attention from situational awareness.
How on earth ,have you got that ,we fought wars on a manual driven tanks, jeeps and trucks.can you drive a stick?

I threw papers ,called in robberies, homeless sleeping in the road, drunks too and sleeping in the middle traffuc in the car and reported arcing wiring while throwing papers .can't pull that on me.

My job requires me to be aware of things, they don't pause driving for me while i read, electric meters in the, median had to stop in the middle of traffic or cross on foot to get reads or drive on side walks

My job requires me to be aware of things..

Yes, but you are above average. Most military are. That half of the population that is below average benefits from simple controls.

The roads are safer due to automatic transmissions, IMO. Even the top 20% benefit from other drivers being less distracted.
