Hello;

I'm an aging senior citizen in the sunset years of his life and well past the age when people are old enough to die of natural causes.

I was born in San Diego and baptized an infant into Roman Catholicism in 1944 but switched to Protestantism in 1968.

I learned to use an IBM PC without a mouse, when the only screen colors available were gray scale and amber. I think that was somewhere around 1988. My files were stored on 5¼ floppy discs. A computer with 500k RAM was considered the cat's meow.

We bought our first home PC in 1994. It had a 172mb hard drive and a 25mhz processor. It accommodated the 5¼ floppy and the 1.44mb mini floppy. If memory serves me, our version of Windows back then was 3.1

I'm not big on hobbies: just birding, hiking, video games, target shooting, and of course internet forums which I began exploring in 1997 when we got our first internet-capable PC. The last twenty-two years online have been quite an adventure.

No college to speak of, only High School.

Served three years in the US Army as a 101st Airborne paratrooper. My unit was on standby, fully armed and equipped, ready to be in the air in one hour during the Cuban missile crises had President Kennedy given us the green light

Currently residing in Oregon.

A welder from 1966 until retiring in 2006.

I've not had any formal Bible instruction to speak of; relying mainly on Sunday school classes, lectures, radio programs, and books. Fifty-one years of indoctrination hasn't made me an expert but I feel fairly competent in some areas.

Though I feel fairly competent in some areas; I do not believe myself infallible and/or speaking for God ex cathedra because sure enough, it's only a matter of time before somebody comes along with an interpretation that blows mine out of the water; and that happens often; but like the Bible says: Reproofs of instruction are the way of life. (Prov 6:23)

Hi, and welcome!
My Dad was also in the 101 as well as a few others... Broke his toe jumping! He was LRRP and spent most of his time serving in Europe. He used to go to Fort Benning each year for their reunions. He lives in Spokane and his name is Ron.

Glad to meet you, and thank you for your service.

Hey Dan...
We have a lot in common!
I'm a girl and was never in the armed forces....
But otherwise, wow, I think I know you!
Yes,,,it was Windows 3.1
And I also used DOS. I had yellow stickies all over because I could't remember all those commands!
My phone has more memory than my first computer had...and the printer that had to be purchased separately cost more than computers these days!

Welcome and will be looking for you!
