I'm just curious if anyone here relods for 12 Ga SG? I used to reload them but I wound up selling off the Mec press and do not anymore. I still have some 12 Ga odds and ends for reloading and I know I will never be loading any SG ammo ever again. So I'm thinking, pass it on to someone who can put this stuff to use. I am not trying to sell any of it.

But the Lord says, if you have 2 and someone else has none, then give to them. So I thought of my Brothers and Sisters here on the board. Some of these components are the high dollar good stuff, so if you reload for 12 gauge shotgun actively send me a private message so we can toss it around and I'll let you know exactly what I have.

But if you do not use and reload SG stuff, please don't say yes with the thought of getting it to resell for profit. I could do that! But I was wanting to gift a brother that will use them. So only reloaders message me, ok?!

:wink

My wife used to reload 20 gauge for competition trap shooting...but stopped when shells got too cheap to reload.

IDK but have been told that new preloaded shot all contains some powdered steel content to erode the barrels so that people have to buy new guns and go through background checks.
But that those who reload are capable of buying pure lead shot...and extending the life of their guns.

BUT

The only ammunition actually cost effective to reload is 45's and above... again going by hearsay.

Yeah, people kept telling me that they're too cheap to need to reload for, but I found out real quick that almost anything I put together in 12 ga was so much better ammo than store bought that it still wasnt a bad idea to reload my own. Even slugs man, I used some Unique behind some home cast foster type slugs, and they were soo accurate! I could keep them all on a paper plate standing offhand, with my short 18.5" barrel with only a bead...at 100 yards, consistently. With factory slugs every time you buy some you have to figure out where these ones print all over again. Sometimes factory slugs were ok and other times hit and miss.

And you're right about 44's and 45's. I've always been a big bore fan. I have a bunch of moulds too for them and I can load up a box of 50 rounds of top shelf full house loads 44 mag for about $4.00. You believe that? It's true with the home cast lead slugs which is the biggest cost of reloading for someone who does not cast lead. And the people who say they don't like leading up their gun... Those guys have not yet figured out that it is not about the velocity or if it has a gas check, it's the size of them. When I started sizing them to .430 instead of .429, leading went away. and the 45 ACP spooky accurate with many different styles and weights of lead bullets! The 45 ACP's are even cheaper to load than the 44 mags because it takes a lot less powder.

Check this out what I figured out...I can load up a box of 50 44 mags that are comparable to say, Buffalo Bore 300 gr 44 mags, the bear stompers, for cheaper than you can go buy a box of 100 CCI mini-mag 22's for! Lol.

There was a time where I would've been very interested, but those days are long gone. I feel at this point the "harmless as a dove" better be my motto in thought, word and deed with local, state and federal government. For the first time in my adult life I own absolutely no firearms. I may even soon be rescinding my life time NRA membership. I've had some incidents where I was sure glad the Lord walked me through some firearms related snares.
