I was reading about a complaint from an atheist on another forum. An American, he said some states atheists were vilified and made to look immoral in court. Sorry i dont have all the details yet.Seems American atheists are afraid Christians will interfere with State matters and are very vocal in their criticism.

It depends on the judge and there beliefs.

It's like there was a judge here who's daughter was killed by a drink driver and everyone who stood on drink driving charges he sent to prison, so he was taken off drink driving cases. He was just throwing everyone in prison.

In general it's usually a fine and lose of licence for so many months. 3rd time some people get prison.
I can't feel sorry for them, must because they didn't kill anyone yet doesn't mean they won't.

We have some leniency on that ,I work with a guy who has a dui.

First, how would a judge know your religious affiliation? And yes, atheism is a religion.
Regardless, under our constitution, the judge and jury must remain impartial to anything that is not related to the crime they are being charged with.

Let's say an atheist spray paints a church. He should be charged for the vandalism, but he should also be charged with a hate crime. The same could and should be said if a Christian did the same to a mosque.

One religion should only be counted against them if it causes them to infringe upon the constitutional rights of others.

"Hate Crime" legislation is a joke that lawmakers have inserted into the justice system.
Sentencing used to be based upon guilt and "motive". Hate Crime is motive.
Whatever...

And only applies to certain groups,if I kill a gay ,Jew,or black ,its a hate crime ,but if its the reverse and the motive is racial ,its not?

Systems can be good in theory but it's always crooked when it's humans. It all comes down to the judge and there individual beliefs of how harsh the penalty is given.

One of our members has had issues with his community vilifying him and stubbornly voicing it to him. It isn't about religion, but that social pressure could exist towards atheists.

Or on the other hand they could think they are persecuted because of eactions with family or a fear of reactions. With that state of mind they could be hypersensitive when there was nothing that happened. When it comes to the legal system, and finding fault, more often then not people find someone else to blame when they are given a sentence.

I don't know. It could be either way.

I don't believe them. It's just an excuse to get themselves fired up to attack Christianity. I've gone onto an atheist forum to study the aggressive behaviour of these new age atheists towards Christianity. I could never understand where the hate is coming or why.

What I did learn is that they will take every position that opposes Christianity without even thinking about it. That's the only reason why all these straight people fight so hard for the LGBT, they don't care about them or understand their issues, they just want to oppose Christians, to try and make us look bad.

I tell you going on an "anything goes" chaotic secular forum where atheists and Christians "debate" is a huge challenge. You are truly tested as a Christian to love your enemies. which i usually fail ??

The justice system come down to the judge, and the judge is just a human being the same as any other human being who has there own beliefs.

Good luck to anyone who thinks the justice system is fair.

I just went undercover into an atheist forum claiming to be "agnostic raised with Christian morals"

Then I read posts and started to learn about the new age atheist mindset. I made posts and even threads that were designed to test the reaction of people.

What I found was a totally irrational hatred for Christianity and a willingness to contest it at every possible moment.

Take homosexuality, most of them are disgusted by the thought of anal sex and they know how much more dangerous it is to contract STDs through anal sex.
But they go against their gut feeling, against medical science and against public health safety just to attack Christianity

I am not quite there. If someone vandalizes a church, synagogue or mosque the immediate victims are the people who worship there. It’s messed up their building.
But if the vandalism has things like Nazi symbols or anti Christian or Muslim writing the intent is to frighten or intimidate a much larger part of the community, or even the entire community. The number of victims becomes larger. The larger society is harmed.
A person could deface a building with meaningless strokes of paint from a brush or spray can and there is a finite, quantifiable amount of damage.
Using the same paint on a place of worship they can write symbols or words with the intent of intimidating a class of people and even those who would welcome them as part of their community. It becomes a larger crime.
I don’t see why it’s wrong to acknowledge that when it happens with an extra charge.
Should I feel threatened by the concept of “hate crimes”? I don’t.

How about when someone puts a rope on a tree limb with a lynching knot on it? A kid could hang a rope on a tree near a school to swing on and it’s nothing. Put a hangman’s noose in the rope to intimidate African Americans in the community and you have a very different story.
No crime in a kid putting a rope on a tree limb. But a hangman’s noose needs dealt with.
In my opinion.

Oh the justice system now im fired up.

Is there justice? Sure, if u have money. Give your lawyer $15,000, he'll give the police prosecutors a few grand and they'll drop the case.

You might be innocent but if u have no money then there is no justice for u.
Only the cold hard concrete of a state correctional facility

We punish murder lightly ,add x amount severity ,it seldom is enforced .

A person who has committed violent acts ,shoukdnt be set free easily, and yet they do and go back to it

"Motive" is a legal term...
And the motive for committing a crime determines the amount of punishment a judge can issue. Racial or religious motives have the grounds for a more severe punishment than someone caught up in the heat of the moment or passion.

There are a lot of things that judges used to base a sentence on...not anymore. That's why they have gone to legislating from the bench...since legislators want to judge from theirs.

Well I can put buy a swastika put in my front yard not a crime yet if I spray the same symbol on a piece of property it's a crime how is it Justified?

Cause it's not your property... Duh.
I can paint a star ,on private property and its not a hate crime.

Yet paint the symbols of things i can buy online ,fly on a pole its a hate crime,go,march ,call blacks all manner of names ,write a book etc.not a crime at all .so long as i don't act.

Strange ,very strange .yet a black male can attack me ,with the statements clearly not a hate crime ,strange
