who like sports?
I've heard this generalization before but I'd like to get some opinions. :)
If someone feels this would belong in another forum, feel free to move it...
Thanks!

In My opinion, I would hope she can at least bare a conversation that involves the topic. I don't care if she's too into the major details, but I find it tough to talk to a gal who is absolutely clueless about all things athletic.

depends what sports

frisbee, hackey sack, table sports cool.

if they PLAY sports, meh ok..

if they are way into liek football or soccer :/ no

I think it is nice that each partner share in the others interests.

My sons girlfriend sent me this joke the other day and I think it fits with what you are saying Brutus.....

Football FINALLY makes sense.......... A guy took his blonde girlfriend
to
her first football game. They had great seats right behind their team's
bench. After the game, he asked her how she liked the experience.

"Oh, I really liked it," she replied, "especially the tight pants and
all
the big muscles, but I just couldn't understand why they were killing
each
other over 25 cents."

Dumbfounded, her date asked, "What do you mean?"
"Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it and then for the rest of
the
game, all they kept screaming was: 'Get the quarterback! Get the
quarterback!' I'm like...Helloooooo? It's only 25 cents!!!! :o

A guy I work with has what I call an ideal marriage. His wife lets him watch football on Sundays and she'll usually go hang out with her mother.

I think that would be pretty neat situation, or if she loved football too that would be even better. However, I would hope that she genuinely likes it and is not just pretending. Its easy to identify a faker.

But Judy is right, any common interest is helpful to a relationship. Personally, I love sports so I would be better suited to find someone who loves sports too or at least has an interest in them. But as is evident in the situation I mentioned first, time apart doing different things on occasion is good for a relationship too.

Great story Judy! I shared that with some other friends of mine, they thought it was very funny. :)
Good points as well!
I'm a big sports fan so I would hope guys like girls who are interested in sports. :tongue

Agreed about the common interests.

I am not a huge sports fan, but I do occassionally like to watch a good game of football. I have even gone to a few sporting events and such too, so I would have no problem going to a game with Eric or something...then again, since I'm not a HUGE fan, I wouldn't be one of those upset wives if he chose to take his buddies instead...

ON THE FLIPSIDE...

He likes what some people would call "chick flicks" ....but SHHHH don't tell no one. ;-)

So, one night we could cuddle up watching the Eagles devour the Cowboys and the next night cry while watching "A Walk to Remember" together.
