I know that I am definitely a shower person. However, I do enjoy a nice warm bath every once in awhile. Especially when I am feeling really stressed out about something.

I used to get dehydrated when I stayed in hot water for a long time (people sweat when hot, even in the bath/shower). I switched to quick showers to reduce the odds of hypovolemic orthostatic and nocturnal hypotension. Drinking isotonic fluids after sweating is also helpful.

Maybe this information will be helpful to someone. It took me awhile to figure out.

How would I know if I was suffering with what you mention above given I have a hot bath every night?

I think isotonic has something to with 'semipermiable membrane's'

Now I know my body has those, add for the rest I have no idea

You know this is really embarrassing but I had to look that up. I think that it's basically not being able to sweat right? Please excuse me, I have learning disabilities and I don't always understand big words like that. Anyway, this topic that I created really made me think about this song. :) Aww.. who doesn't love puppies?

The only reason I knew that was because on the way home on the radio was talking to a sports nutrionalist who talked about isotonic drinks.
He said something about salt.
And if memory serves me when I used to play football I got cramp.
I would drink water with salt which relieved the cramp.

So if seems salt (sodium) is in such drinks.

Mixing salt in water is just as effective.

You have nothing to be embarrassed about or to excuse yourself off.

We all love puppies.

I have 2 dogs. One is 14 the other is 3

In the summer when we hose the garden the 3 year old loves it when I hold the house up in the air.

He stands on two legs and swirls around whilst the water comes down.

He is having a doggy shower.

You know when I first read that I took as it a whole other meaning to it lol :lol I was going to say, really? I thought that the boys usually stayed home. Anywho..so are you saying that it means you can't ingest salt or..I think that your sweat is salty so I could have been right when I said that it means you have trouble sweating. Anyway, even the manliest of men loves puppies so it's good to know that you admit it. The only problem is that they're an awful lot of work. I do believe that God does an awful lot of false advertising. He makes puppies, kittens, and babies cute so that you'll really want to have them. Otherwise, why would you? Anyway, isn't it great that when we all get to Heaven we will all be perfect? Then I won't have these disabilities anymore. I'll be just like Jesus and everyone else. :cross I really like you a lot by the way, do you want to be friends?

When you played football, you got dehydrated. Some people get cramps when they are dehydrated. Other people get dizzy when standing up, or have trouble sleeping if they are dehydrated.

If you add salt to the water yourself, you have to be careful not to put in too much. Some drinks have the correct amount of salt premixed in. Too much salt can cause problems for some people.

When people sweat a lot, they don't have enough water left in their bodies. This can cause some people problems. Drinking water alone solves the problem for some people. Other people need a bit of salt with the water, because they sweat out their salt.

Oh. I get it now. Thanks! So it's actually the opposite of what I originally thought. You were sweating too much instead of not sweating enough.

I was so stressed about something one time...
I spent 4 days in the tub.
