We are to watch for the signs He gave.
More important is that we are to be found faithfully doing His will when He comes.
That's our job.
Knowing when He will come is of no value if we are not doing good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Eph 2:10) When the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth? (Luk 18:8)
I'm just saying we are to be focused on what we are doing not on when He is coming. If we are doing His will then it doesn't matter when He comes. I see people devoting more time and effort and resources trying to figure out when Jesus will return than in doing the works which He created us to do.

And the Jews who made up the original Church are not equivalent of the Jews who did not follow Jesus.

I agree.

Some are part of the Church and some are not.

Jesus preached the Gospel to the lost and they were saved.

The apostles were sent out to preach the Gospel to the lost so they could be saved.

For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost. Matthew 18:11

Did people get saved under Jesus ministry?

JLB

Maybe - maybe not (John 6:66)
And, at the time of His speaking, the Church had not been established. That wasn't accomplished until Jesus was crucified, dead, buried, risen, ascended to the throne of the Father, and the Holy Spirit given.

Again, a logical non-sequitor,
1. Scripture does not indicate the elapsed time between Pentecost (When the Church was established) and Philip's preaching in Samaria (Acts 8) or Peter's visit with Cornelius (Acts 10) resulting in the conversion of his household to the faith.

2. And the Jews who made up the original Church are not equivalent of the Jews who did not follow Jesus. There has bee Judaism starting from the giving of the Law at Sinai. They are not who we commonly refer to as "the Church" since they were not followers of Jesus.

You are conflating a multitude of concepts.

And this has nothing to do with the OP.

You will need to do better than deny what the scriptures I have provided are teaching brother.

Why would Jesus say He has come to save the lost if no one was ever saved by Him preaching the Gospel?

Why would Jesus instruct people to do something with the Church and it’s members that did not exist?

For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.
“What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.
Matthew 18:11-17

How can Jesus send out His Apostles to save the lost, but no one is ever saved?

And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Simon the Cananite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him. These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
Matthew 10:1-8

again

And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.”
Galatians 3:8

You claiming a logical non-sequitor, in the face of the many scriptures I have provided
Is not going to cut it brother.

The ecclesia, the called out holy nation of God, the Israel of God, the Church began with Abraham and the covenant the Lord Jesus made with him.

Did people get saved under Jesus ministry?
Th whole world got "saved" from physical death by (not "under") Jesus' ministry.
2Ti 1:8-11 ...do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles

If by "saved" you mean; able to enter into the Kingdom of God, then, no.
Jesus said that it is necessary to be born of water (Baptism in water) and of the Spirit (Baptism in the Holy Spirit) in order to enter into the kingdom of God. (John 3:5)
Since the Holy Spirit was not sent until after Jesus had completed His work and returned to the Father, no one was "saved" (i,e.: entered the kingdom of God) "under" His ministry.

or so it seems to me

You will need to do better than deny what the scriptures I have provided are teaching brother.
I deny what YOU THINK the scriptures are teaching.
(Individual mileage may vary)
Why would Jesus say He has come to save the lost if no one was ever saved by Him preaching the Gospel?
They were saved by Jesus destroying the power of death, not by His preaching.
Why would Jesus instruct people to do something with the Church and it’s members that did not exist?
Because He knew it would exist?

You can believe that the Church existed whenever you like.
I don't care when you believe "the Church" existed. It's not important.
There won't be a quiz at the judgment on when the Church was started.

Yes which means teaching and walking in the truth.

What does that mean?
Please translate that from Christianese to plain English.
By that I mean, please describe the behavior you call "walking in the truth" in observable and countable terms.

Ok so according to you no one got saved under or by or through Jesus’ ministry of preaching the Gospel with signs and wonders.

When we get saved isn’t it because we believe in Him and have our sins forgiven because we repent?

Walking in the truth is Chistianese?

Jesus is the truth.

Everything He taught is truth.

His teaching, His doctrine, His word, His message, His Commandments are Truth.

His teaching is about loving God and loving our neighbor.

Walking in truth is walking in love, walking in righteousness.

Loving God by obeying His commandment to love our neighbor.

This is practicing what is right in God’s eyes.

Practicing righteousness.

Obeying Christ.

Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 2 John 9

Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, 1 Peter 1:22-23

again

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for strangers, who have borne witness of your love before the church. 3 John 4-6

Those who obey the truth will receive eternal life on the Day of Judgement.

God, who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, Romans 2:6-8

We are saved by faith in Jesus just as the Jews in Jesus were saved. They were clean before Pentecost because of the word Jesus spoke to them. But it is also true Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit and no one enters the Kingdom of God except by Him. If one doesn't have the Spirit of Christ in them they don't belong to Him.

The Spirit is received by faith in Jesus -not by works of the law as Paul noted to the Galatians. As Jesus stated the "Gift" of God and the Fathers "promise"
What God gives He gives freely. What one receives from man they may have to work hard for.

The cause of the other Jews inability to enter the Kingdom of God was their unbelief. Jesus was a rock that caused them to stumble. With light comes accountability and they were held accountable as Gods wrath as well as hope was announced in the same gospel message. "Justice to the nations"- beginning with the lost sheep of Israel.
The first covenant also had curses and blessings.

Do you believe a person who has the Spirit of Christ in them and walks in obedience to Christ is part of the Church?

When we get saved isn’t it because we believe in Him and have our sins forgiven because we repent?
That question is a different topic from the statement to which you referred it.
I didn't say anything about what a person does to be saved.

Is that what I said???
Why are you picking fights?

I’m sorry if I misunderstood you.

Let me show you the phrase you used that led me to believe this is what you were saying.

If by "saved" you mean; able to enter into the Kingdom of God, then, no.

That is what saved means:

Inheriting God’s Kingdom
Entering God’ Kingdom
Being welcome in God’s Kingdom
Having part in God’s Kingdom

Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: Matthew 25:34

again

strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” Acts 14:22

again

11 And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Matthew 8:11-12

Yes.
If you say that to a person who has no knowledge of the Bible or of Jesus, he will have no idea what you are talking about.
And if you say that to a person who has no knowledge of the Bible or of Jesus, again, he will have no idea what you are talking about.

I asked that you describe "walking in the truth" in observable and countable behavior. That means an observer could identify a specific behavior as fitting the category of "walking in the truth" and, by watching the person for a while, could even count the number of times he "walked in the truth."

It seems to me that Jesus described such behaviors. They include; feeding the hungry, giving water to the thirsty, clothing the naked, giving shelter to the stranger, ministering to the sick and visiting the prisoners. I can identify and count those behaviors. (Mat 25)

Is that what you mean by "walking in the truth" of do you have something else in mind?
