Anyone know if you're supposed to buy anything for the couple? What kind of gift would be appropriate? Because then you have bridal showers and all that...is that the same thing?? I'm confused.

Or do we just go and eat their food?? Because that was my only plan...

No idea :confused I've never been to one, they're not common around here... I would think it is a new sort of thing, rather than traditional, which means it could just be something geared towards getting more presents. I'd probably not go myself, but if I did I wouldn't bring anything because I would bring it to her shower. :twocents

I'm her bridesmaid...I have to go. I googled it and proper etiquette is that you don't have to take anything because it is a celebration of their engagment. Plus there is the bridal shower and wedding itself which "require" gifts and I'm buying my dress and shoes for the wedding...I think in anticipation of already spending money on those things, presents should not be required for this event. I'm going to follow google's advice and not buy anything...hopefully I won't be the only one.

So I guess I really am going just to eat their food :clap
