I will be honest with you guys on this one. I don't really get this chapter. It's short and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. :confused

You might do better doing this as a study of the book beginning with the first paragraph and a question about it. There are, from my experience, a couple of grounded teachers on this and most Christian Sites.

As you can see already, you can listen to J. Vernon McGee as he comments or we can go subject by subject, paragraph by paragraph to ferret out truth. I avoided the logical but overly simple answer. But here it is, Ephesians is about salvation.

This is a good outline. My church years ago did a series that went verse by verse and it took months of preaching because there is so much good ground that is covered in this book about salvation, this world we live in, this flesh we live in, etc. One thing that stuck with me (and that this outline also shows) is the shift from talking about what Christ did for the church in chapters 1-3 (the church meaning the body of believers), to chapters 4-6, which focus on what believers/the church should do for him.

i hope she will use it... ..jay Vernon is good bit radical i like him lol

I'll break it down in chapters.
Chapters 1-3 Is the position of the Christian as in our old condition being dead to God and our new condition being alive to God.

Chapters 4-6 the practice of the Christian as in unity of the church, holiness in life, responsibilities in the home and at work, and conduct in conflict.

Like every chapter we need to read verse by verse so we can understand the whole chapter. Never leave a verse until you gain full knowledge of what is written as one verse can contain so much knowledge.

Actually if it's audio then I will most certainly give it a try. Thank you. :)
I am married to one of the East Texas/ Western Louisiana McGee girls and the only McGee I know that has ever been published. You'll never find a more down to earth nor more fundamental commentator on the Word of YHWH.

no doubt about it straight forward does not dance around with theories . he will state iho

Conflict between Jewish and gentle Christians, threatening to split Christians into 2 groups, and thus to destroy the unity of the church.
Paul insisted that it was God's purpose from eternity that the gospel be preached to Gentiles (1:10, 3:8,9)

That eternal purpose had now been disclosed in Christ, so that Gentiles, once foreigners to God's covenant, were made fellow citizens with God's people (2:12,19)

Outline:
Christ the Head of the church 1:3-23
The church- the body of Christ 2:1-3:21
Conduct of the believer 4:1-6:9
The Christian's warfare 6:10-20

Hope that helped ya

No, not really but I'm listening to the commentary so thanks anyways. :)

Hey for some reason or another when I got further down the list I couldn't do the streaming on the commentaries. :neutral Oh and I really don't want to download anything on my computer but it's a shame though, because I was enjoying listening to them. :)
