It almost sounds as if you're defining eternal life as Christ in you, our only hope of glory. I would hope this is an acceptable statement to all here?
I would say it just a bit differently.
There is only one being in existence who has life by nature. (as part of his essence) That being is God. (John 1:4)
When God breathed His spirit into Adam, He gave Adam life.(Gen 2:7)
When his spirit leaves a man, he dies. (Ecc 12:7)
The only way to have eternal life is to be united to Christ as part of His body. (Eph 5:30-32)

As believers, we become Christ's body; one flesh with Him.
Therefore, as Christ has eternal life by nature, the Church has eternal life by grace and by the fact of being united to Christ as the Bride of Christ.

But the body we now have will not have eternal life because "flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom." ( 1Co 15:50)
At His coming, believers will be changed from an earthly body to a spiritual body and the dead will rise with a spiritual body. (1Co 15:44; 51-55)

Anyway, that's how I understand it.

any bible discussion backed with scripture of any subject should be allowed .the personal jabs not allowed .i can remember when i first joined this forum. there was very little discussion going on. it was almost dead in fact for a period of time. i left nothing was going on.

I was talking to a brother yesterday. He was sharing when in house group, there was time for prayer,
nothing appeared in his heart to say, to pray about.

For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
Romans 8:15-16

It made me think, though people go to church, believe, have faith, yet are silent inside their hearts.
Probably they find in hard to pray when alone, or bring people before the Lord, because this whole idea
does not speak to them or is a reality in their lives.

Jesus talked about this in the sermon on the mount.

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
Matthew 6:6-8

How do we know we know Him? We begin to reach out from our hearts to His heart.
Bringing our sins and failures before Him for forgiveness and healing.

How can I answer this without breaking the new rules?
Hmmm. OK. Eternal life is God's gift without conditions except we have faith which is a no-duh, to those that believe. Irrevocable just as he told Paul to tell the Romans in Romans 11:29.

i am not going to tip toe around we HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.. PETER CALLS IT A lively hope 1 peter 1 :
A Heavenly Inheritance
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time... ya dont get any better than that

It's a thin line to cross I think (talking about What is eternal life? and then crossing over into the OSAS territory). I'm still a bit confused at the question but one thing that occurs to me is that "eternal" life simply is life that never will end. It's not eternal in the same sense as God is eternal because God had no beginning. He just is. Which is impossible to fathom but there it is. We are created so had a beginning to our existence.

Then there's the definition of "life." It has to mean much more than simply existing. There's a richness involved and a restoration to the full intent God had for humans at the creation. We can only imagine what that will be like. But it's beyond our imaginations. Ephesians 3:20

Eternal life

Practising the presence of God. Often we compartmentalise our spiritual experiences into sections in
our life, adjusting what we do and how we do it to the people involved.

Often this means restricting our view of the Lord only to church or bible studies rather than to everything
we do.

Paul calls us to
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thess 5:16-18

This means bringing before the Lord everything that we do. This is putting our walk and communion with Him
into effect, consciously, and with a good heart.

You can't really .
When how do you get it and what is it are forbidden this isn't a true topic in Christendom.

I didn't think it offended. I was thinking you were inquiring about the new policy against speaking about salvation.
It is impossible to extricate eternal life and that which cannot be named.

This site is going to die a very slow death with this new rule I think. As it should quite frankly.
It's going through changes.
There is something in scripture about this. We are forewarned.
Yes, I knew I recalled that. Acts 20:27
Paul says, “Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all, for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God”

Question: "What is the whole counsel of God?"
If this is deleted due to being a rule violation that is OK. The rule is a Biblical violation.
