Fair point on the unused 'junk' RNA. You are right in that, but there still remain massive swathes of the genome, RNA and DNA both, that are either unaccounted for or seemingly useless/ turned off. A great many genetic 'switches', when activated, perform tasks useless in the modern world and unfit to their environments.

I fully respect that there are probably many more mysteries about our genome that we will understand more fully in the course of time, but from our current standpoint it certainly looks like a system of evolved complexity, rather than engineered simplicity.

And I agree fully on your statement that science does not strive to find a solid 'truth'. I, personally, distrust anything which pledges a single, unassailable 'truth' which may not be argued with. Theories should allow for the possibility of modification.

Right. A system that all evolved from rocks.

If one accepts that Genesis is often allegorical, then the inconsistencies and logical contradictions are no longer there.

There are good, and wise, and learned, and pious people on both sides of the issue. And it's not a salvation issue.

But I can't find a way to make a literal Genesis work.

What did Jesus say?:

Joh 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
