Please can any one who uses facebook or knows what to do with it tell me how to stop certain things coming up in the "highlights" section of the "home" page (right hand panel, list of things your "friends" have been up to) one of my "friends" has been commenting on photos i would rather not be exposed to, or have my family exposed to, and i am not sure how to stop them popping up in the highlights section... i will delete them as a friend if need be to protect my family... but is there another way?
 
on the main page, if you hover over the notification (not on the right side bar) you will see the choice to "hide (persons name)"

Also there is a setting where you can block from seeing their notifications all together. You'll have to play around and read through the settings. Might just be better to erase that person. Espec if they don't have your values.
 
okay, so i seem to have been able to remove any of their posts from the "news feed" by doing that "hide" thing you said, but it doesn't stop their stuff appearing in my "highlights" ?? (the right hand bar bit)

hmmm, don't want to have to delete person, as they are my brother, and being family, i don't want to step on toes if you know what i mean? but that is really my ONLY connection to them, we don't see eye to eye on ANYTHING!
 
oh no hun don't be sorry lol :) it really is better they are gone anyway, i don't need to be associated with people like that. especially not with my wee girl and another princess a baking relying on their mummy to keep them safe and bring them up right... i don't need bad influences surrounding my precious babes.
