Well,
I'm sure that you are becoming more familiar with the area...
As such go to the more affluent portion of the town and find a church there... either a Methodist or Baptist Church... possibly a Presbyterian Church.
One that seems to be busy with a large sized membership.
Then once there you can ask one of the associate or senior pastor about other churches in the neighborhood where you live. Don't feel embarrassed about what it is that you are looking for when speaking with him. It's actually usually something that he really enjoys doing. You want a small group Bible study with your demographic peers close to where you live.

He will probably know of several groups on your side of town. Check them out.

There's a lot of reasons why this formula works and is a safe way to find what you are looking for.
Trust me...I've done new towns before and found this to be the best way to find what you want.

hi, and welcome to CFnet. :)

the -1- time I was involved with a Bible Study Group, it was through an established, local Baptist (SBC) church. it was...OK. I mention that its only happend -1- time because...clearly...I'm not any sort of expert on how to find these things, lol. having said that...

if you have large(r) churches that are also sound, in terms of doctrine and such...many (most? all?) of them will have websites. Some of these websites will show their small groups, some of which are simply Bible study, some of them might be Biblically-oriented, but also centered on a theme...

anyway, other than that, I don't have any major ideas. I hope you enjoy your time here at CFnet. :)

Hi @MaranathaYeshua777 and welcome to CF :wave2

The best advice I can give you is pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you where you need to be for your Spiritual growth as you search out the churches in your area. Never fear going by yourself as when you find the right church you will make many friends if you put yourself out there and extend the hand of friendship.

We also have a good Bible study section here at CF that you can get involved in as you share your faith with us. Glad you are with us. :)

My wife and I have been fortunate to be in a weekly bible study for about 8 years. It's not affiliated with any one church and different people go to different churches.
It's been very good.
But I would suggest checking out local church websites. Many list the Bible study groups from their church and which are open to new members.
Or just call and ask the pastor.
Just be sure to consider the first visits as tentative and don't be shy about not going back if it doesn't seem to be a healthy group or you have a serious doctrine issue.
I prefer bible studies that are expository, verse by verse through a book of the Bible. That prevents some of the man directed topic choosing.
I also prefer one where the leader is not a lecturer, but where the group is learning together more than learning from one person's perspective to a great degree.
