I know what it's called. It is what you do constantly. You are never wrong are you? About anything ever I'm guessing. I've seen you argue on other threads repeating yourself over and over. You are more intelligent than anyone else and that you might wrong is inconceivable. People finally up and leave and quit talking to you. Which is what I am doing now. Bye.
Hello Reformed. I wish I knew your first name.
I have been reading your posts and until this one, I've seen your love for our Lord and how your interpretation of scripture draws you closer to our Lord. Without question, you are a brother in Christ and Gods Spirit dwells within you.

Running an online community has it's challenges much in the same way Paul was challenged in keeping the unity among believers whether it be in Rome or Corinth etc. Unity isn't a given, it's created and we all have to be willing participants in securing that unity.

I understand your upset and I understand that you want to share what draws you closer to our Lord, and here is where the real work comes in. There are those who believe differently than you and their belief draws them closer to our Lord. We each need to recognise this and search real hard for our common ground and build off our common faith while allowing the other the faith God has granted each of us.

When I read posts like the above, it saddens me because our common faith is being shattered.

If you would like to continue your grievance with OzSpen, I would encourage you to seek reconciliation with him in private, just as our Lord commands us in Matthew 18.

I've known Oz for a few years, and he is a good man, and I can tell you are a good man as well. I pray there be no hard feelings between you and any member on this site.

Grace and peace

I know I got a little out of line and for that I apologize. I was trying to have a conversation about our differences and became very frustrated with getting nothing back from Oz but an instant contradiction of everything I said. Not a discussion. A dismissal of me and my ideas. I already told Oz that I was stopping the back and forth and I have. I have no hard feelings towards him or what he believes. I just feel the "conversation" became nothing more than a vain argument. My problem was not in what his beliefs are, it was the total lack of actual discussion and exploration of the topic. It is my beliefs that were dismissed.

SB,

Reformed05 identifies herself as a female and not a male.

I am more than happy to engage in a private discussion with Reformed regarding our interaction.

Ref,

I am very pleased to continue discussion with you. Could we make it one point at a time - inviting others to join us - as it relates to the topic (original post) of free will?

Blessings,
Oz

i am very much a believer in free will. i have discussed this in the carm forum years ago. it turned rather ugly . i see free will in the garden of eden God gave pacific instructions. we just got back from Branson mo see the show samson . you can see all the bad choices he made . God has given us his Holy Spirit . which will alert us as to what is right and what is wrong.. in scripture it is called a unction. so imo i have yet to see God restrain us from wrong. in salvation he does draw us but ultimately we have to make the decision. the night i got saved i heard God speak its now or never i chose the now, our calvinist bro-sis calls it irresistible grace meaning when God draws us in it is impossible to resist . i resisted for many years . i will say however when he wants your attention. he has a way of getting it .

Hi jerry63935 and welcome to CF :wave2

I agree with all you say here as all through scripture we are given choices to make. Deuteronomy Chapters 27 and 28 is all about choices as we either will to be cursed for disobedience or we are truly blessed for walking in obedience. It all started with Adam and Eve in the free will choice they made from the temptation set before them. Perfection turned into imperfection as it still does today by the choices we make. God draws us to Him as we hear Him calling us, but many have closed their ears to His calling them. We are only saved by God's grace through faith that is Christ Jesus to all who will believe and receive Him as Lord and Savior.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Give us unction in our gumption, help us function for the Lord

Unction I have heard of, but a "calvinist bro-sis" is a new one on me

Arminians believe in predestination also, biblically it is by FOREKNOWLEDGE
Of what a person will choose and persist in

Jesus loves the little children
Some of all types of all the children in the world
Red and yellow, black and white
Some are precious in His sight
Jesus loves some of the children of the world

( from a new Calvinist hymnal )

Arminian Grace, how strange the sound...

Well, supposed to be OFF LIMITS, but it's a thread on FREE WILL, I mean, how can we NOT touch on it

It is verboten to speak of OSAS vs OSNAS, OR Arminian vs Calvinist issues
But Arminians are divided on OSAS-OSnAS
TULIP-sniffers are ALL OSAS
a REAL "ALL", not just a "Calvinist all"
Like all means "some of all types"

Calvinists and Arminians are Brothers and Sisters ( or bro-sis' s )

( which might be someone predestined for one gender but changed their mind )

1 Lord 1 Faith 1 Baptism

My understanding is that 'Arminian grace' is called prevenient grace.
Is prevenient grace still amazing grace?

ARMINIAN GRACE is a sarcastic song that I quoted the first line of, after quoting several lines of a parody of JESUS LOVES THE LITTLE CHILDREN.

Know how many Calvinists it takes to change a lightbulb?

None. The bulb was predestined to go out, leave it alone.

And man, they get all over Joel Osteen
