i imagine any Christian would consider themselves genuinely converted. that's...how it goes, lol. but seriously...

im far, far, far x 10 from perfect, but I do think I am genuinely converted. Today, my older+wiser Christian friend told me about her 1st husband...he knows Scripture, once taught Sunday school classes...

not a good person, philandering and all that jazz. he's clearly old now, but it seems..old habits die hard, even in a 2nd, long term marriage and with death itself approaching. anyway...

from a distance, i can hear about this and go...tare. wolf in sheep's clothing. false teacher. but people --in their church-- back in the day were...fooled? or did he walk away, willingly giving up salvation for the pleasures of this world?

plus, I thought about it...what would people say about -me- ? he still struggles with stuff, he's unemployed, takes psychotropics...tare. false conversion. maybe he's using other Christians and Christianity to prop up decimated self-worth, etc.

and then...how are we to know? 'ye shall know a tree by the fruit it bears..' applies, obviously. but...anything else?

one thing...'...love each other...' (no address, I'm paraphrasing, and not well...all apologies...). 1 reason I think I'm a genuine conversion is because I'm developing warmth towards other believers, even when...holy fly swatter, batman, I disagree on a whole lot! that's not me willing myself to be 'nice,' I believe its the Lord at work, giving me '...a heart of flesh, not of stone...,' over time.

but other people? is it possible to discern the state of another's salvation, or is it just...mind your own business and worry about the account you will give, at the end of this life?

ok. semi-random thought/question o the day. thanks. :)
