This is rather suspicious...
Where it sounds good...it probably won't stick.
Manslaughter charges would stick. But not 2nd degree murder.

This is going to be very difficult to prove.
If he gets a "not guilty" verdict...this ain't going to go well.

Unless I'm not understanding the law correctly. (Which is highly possible because I'm not a lawyer)

Correct me if I'm wrong but there is a big difference between motive and intent causing death and neglingence causing death.

See, that's what I was thinking too.

Difference between a crime of passion (including deliberate indifference) versus a crime of unintended consequences.

And you would need to prove that the officers didn't care if George died. That's going to be impossible. And if they only charge him with murder 2 then manslaughter is off the table and you can't re-trial him for the same crime and he gets off completely. Which, if he is guilty of manslaughter, is not good either...
