Matthew 8:
23 And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.

24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!.../

Jesus casually rebuked the sea and the wind! I think that is just, super cool. John 14:12 says that we can do anything Jesus did and more and stopping the rain or wind doesn't sound like it would be a hard thing to do.

So I started speaking to the weather a little while back. I have not had any success at it yet but I might one day. Am I alone? Or have any of you Brothers & Sisters ever spoken to the weather? Spoke to the mountain, lol?!

Prayed to stop the rain, for it ,rebuked it

I'll admit to, quite a few years back, speaking to a (literal) mountain in Colorado to try to get it to go to the sea...but that was before I learned that, that don't mean literal mountains but our mountains. Our problems and so forth.

Correct me if I am wrong here but, I *think* that many Christians (including me!) have prayed to God to do things for us...that He commanded us to do in scripture. So I have been speaking to my problems more and more lately in effort to do this.

I spoke to the wind many times this winter to try to get it to stop... it stopped one time, but I think it was a coincidence and just stopped for a minute and not because I spoke the words to it. I want to be able to go out when it's raining hard and overcast and speak to the rain and storm, and watch the clouds roll back to reveal blue sky and sunshine, just like that!

God gives us power and authority over certain things, but yet I don't think it is over nature as far as controlling weather, but only that of principalities. It would be a dangerous thing if we could control the weather as we would want everyday to be sunny and warm, but yet without rain the planet dies. Disasters that come from the storms that come is our time of testing and trusting in God no matter what we see before our eyes. Even if we were to lose everything like that of Job, our trust and faith has to remain in the Lord who will always supply our needs as He goes above that which we could even think of.

I think you're right Sister. I went back and read the Genesis 1:26-28 passage and it tells us to go have dominion but then spells out pretty much all types of wildlife and is silent about the weather. Creeping things it says.

Remember the story where the disciples woke Jesus up on the boat to save them? Jesus was like, oh ye of little faith...and I always took that like He meant why didn't you guys do it? But I guess not. That was prolly more of a...oh ye of little faith, your Lord told you we're going to the other side so what makes you think that we wont make it?! Lol!

a few times i did speak to the weather but mostly i asked God to change the weather and it did change

a few times i did speak to the weather but mostly i asked God to change the weather and it did change

a few times when i spoke to the weather like Jesus did it worked - but i have to say before i did it i was thinking of Jesus and not myself - iow i was thinking about Christ in me speaking through me to the weather and how the weather would have to listen to Christ in me - and it changed immediately

one time the sky suddenly turned angry cloudy dark and an almost hurricane strength wind came up that was furiously rattling all the windows and blowing things around - i was at the house of a senior citizen who was running around trying to close all the windows quickly - i shouted out really loud - STOP IN THE NAME OF JESUS - YOU BREAK UP NOW AND DISAPPEAR IN JESUS NAME - and it did

the senior citizen was stunned - she heard me shout and she saw the wind stop immediately - as soon as i spoke

all through the city people i know noticed how the angry weather came suddenly and looked like a dangerous situation - and then all of a sudden the clouds broke up and blew away - and a strong bright sun came out in it's place -

i'd have to say though that to me it felt like the Holy Spirit rose up in me and did the shouting - so in reality it seems to me that it is always Christ in me doing this - and me just being open the the power of God doing the will of God - because in reality i don't feel up to doing such things on my own - i don't have faith in myself - but i do have a lot of faith in Christ in me - and Him doing it through me as He promised He would

Those are fantastic testimonies Brother! It brought to my remembrance of John 14:12
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.../

That's Jesus Himself talking there and if Christ be within us, then it makes perfect sense that we can do those types of things and effect our environment around us. Of course it is the Lord's power working through us and not of our own strength. But still...

Thanks for sharing.

I can't say I have taken alternative routes to change weather like dark arts or things of that sort. I haven't talkes to the weather itself because who would I be talking to?

I have prayed the weather would be good on a certain day that there was some event, but I think that is the extent of it for me.

The power of God sure is amazing! This reminds me of when my husband told me him and his mom were leaving the store and there was a big funnel cloud coming down quickly and she, too, shouted, "In the name of the Lord! Stop this tornado!" And it went back up to the sky and the clouds spread out, leaving the area.

I remember praying for Texas as they had a devastating tornado season years back. There was a tornado after that and raged through a semi-truck yard and tossed around a few trucks and did some damage, and people were saying it was a miracle that no one was in the yard at the time and no one was hurt. The tornado seemed contained in that area, too - strange.

amen

either God Himself will answer our prayers as He did many times in the bible

or God in us will do it through us - this is little known in christianity but it does occur - i listen to the teachings of those who also successfully speak to weather and other things - they inspired me that scripture has the roadmap for all of us to walk closely with God - all we need to do is ASK GOD to explain HIS words to us and then direct us on how to DO AS HE SAYS

imo scripture was NEVER meant to be fodder for theology - scripture was always meant as direct communication to us from God so we could learn how to DO Genesis 1:26 and Mark 11:22-24 daily
