Did I get my answer?

A few days ago I posted a prayer request on another board concerning the reconciliation of my girlfriend and I. Yesterday as i was sitting outside I had some positive toughts enter my mind but I wasnt sure if they were from God or my own. Shortly after that a quote from the bible came to me ( sorry but i dont know it word for word) but it was something about what you here from me is not from me but my father who sent me.
Today as I was about to leave my room I stopped suddenly and hade a compulsion to open my bible. I layed accross the bed and opened it up not knowing where I was turning to. Again I cant remember the scripture but it was somewhere in Psalms. It said. And all will know it was the hand of the Lord who has done it and talking about delivering from enemies. (her mother hates me, and shes not too happy with me either) Well i thought it was worth mentioning. Im feeling pretty good about the whole situation. Thanks

I want to mention that whan I asked about us trying again she said who knows what GOD will do. Whan I flipped my bible open I got this....PS 109:27 That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, LORD, hast done it.

Welcome to the site!

I believe you have been witnessing how God operates and moves us through life. :amen

The first verse you are looking for is:

John 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

The second verse, if from Psalms, could be any numbers of verses. The Psalms speaks much about our enemies.

Hi Charles! :wave

I've had many experiences similar to yours and I have always believed that the Lord was speaking to me. He did this many times during my son's illness, providing comforting thoughts and then I would find verses that seemed to back up what I was hearing. It is so sweet to hear the Lord's voice in our hearts!

I won't even try to comment on what the Lord might be doing in your life, because I could never know that. But I do want to give you a word of caution: Sometimes people will try to get out of something or avoid making a commitment by "passing the buck" onto God. A red flag went up for me when I read that your ex-girlfriend said, "who knows what GOD will do." I used to say this to my ex sometimes in order to keep from having to come out and say, "Listen, it's not going to work." I didn't want to be responsible for breaking his heart, so I basically put the whole thing on God. I look back now and realize that was wrong of me. Of course, if it had been God's will for us to get back together, I would have gladly followed his will. But the truth was, I didn't love the guy like he loved me and I wanted out. I don't know if this is the case with your girlfriend or not...I mean, I could be very off about this and she may not be doing what I did. But I still felt like I should warn you so that you might be aware should she be trying to "pass the buck" like I did. I pray the Lord blesses you and that His will be done in your relationships.

Hi JoJo, I would like to mention that it was a trust issue with her that led to the split. You see, I live in the US and she lives in Moldova. We have been talking for a year and I have made the trip 5 months ago. Its really an issue we both struggle with due to the distance, but im sure we can overcome this if we are willing.

Im very new to listening to God and I just want to make sure im hearing from Him and not trying to manipulate the situation into somethingI want it to be. I will say that after I had these experiences, I have a peace I havent felt in a very long time. Its the peace that Ive been waiting for, as it confirms to me that Ive heard from God. Just as I had some years ago. Thanks to you and the others for the welcome.

Welcome to CF, Charles. :yes

I am glad that you are feeling as though you are hearing God!

May I caution you, however to not expect Him to be random with you at all times. He is good at that, but really, we must be intent on seeking His wisdom and direction and we can only receive these things by regular times of talking with Him and reading His Word. Opening the bible at random pages is like playing a game with Him, and while He has given me wisdom and comfort and encouragement in that way from time to time, I do not expect it unless He has caused me to do that.

I encourage you to read the Bible daily and talk with Him. That is the only sure-fire way you will be able to perceive His will for your life.

Point well taken. All I know is that I felt the urge out of nowhere to pick up the book, not knowing where I was going and got what I felt was needed for this time. I have pleaded with God to speak to me on the matter of me and my girl for a month before I recieved anything. I have to say its amazing how I can keep the peace in confidence of what Iv'e heard while still seeing nothing in the physical. My point of view says forget it its over. But somone other says different. Thank you, and yes im starting to dicipline myself to spend more time with Him. ;)

Ah ok. Thank you for sharing that. Forgive me if I planted any undue doubts.
