Keep an open mind would be my advice.
in my opinion we have to keep searching all our lives. Everyone is on a different journey. The main thing is not to cave in to a materialistic view of life.
welcome to the fourham

Welcome to the forum Matthew.
I agree that we have to keep on seeking and searching. We will never know everything.
I can't ever imagine leaving Jesus though. He is the Son of God who suffered and died for every human being so that we all have a chance of eternal life.
Even though we backside He welcomes us back with open arms
Nobody could love us more. Nobody deserves our loyalty more than He does
I wish you peace and wisdom as you make hour decision.
We are all here for you

For most of my life I thought there were different paths to God. I prayed for an answer and God sent the Holy Spirit who whispered in my ear a message from Jesus: "I am the way. I am the truth. I am more than a prophet. I really did die on the cross for you. I brought a new covenant. I was resurrected. You must let go of all your sympathy for other religions. Go to them and tell them what I have told you. I am the way." :cross

I may as well admit to a prejudice against Islam. If we can talk plainly here, some of the ideas sound more like slavery than worship. Obedience is more important than love?
Am I swept up by media bias and influenced by Islamaphobia? But Sharia Law is surely Draconian and disrespectful to women.
Having said that my good friend is Muslim by birth. He never goes to a Mosque nor prays though.

Christianity IS love. That is the decisive point for me. God IS love. The Cross IS love. Love wins. Legalism doesnt. Cold heartedness doesnt win. Sacrificial love wins. God reaches out to us through Jesus. Thats powerful. And the clincher imo.

Hi everyone, I am Matthew. I used to attend church and read the Bible and see myself as a Christian but then I learned a bit about Islam, so I am not sure if I will follow Christianity again or maybe Islam.
christianity is a religion and so is islam

Mark 12:30 - Matthew 22:37 - Deuteronomy 6:5 - teaches people should turn/connect to God which is far more powerful than any religion

if you go to God and talk to God and ask Him to speak to you through the bible and then take note of anything that pops out at you from the bible you will begin to have a vibrant daily walk with God

i guarantee walking with God daily will be much more satisfying and life changing than any religion

praying for you
