hi everyone. My real name is also ervin and my surname starts with p. I live in melbourne australia. I am turning 42 today.

I come from a muslim dad who was t religious( he died years ago) and a christian heritage mother who is not into faith.

I sort of believed in the Bible even in the past but have only come to see myself officially as a christian for just a bit under two months. However I have in the past believed that Jesus Christ was the best person/ man to have walked the earth, but I didn’t believe everything in the Bible. I still don’t necessarily believe in everything in the Bible and if I am wrong than that might be something to correct. I also find it hard to believein the so called trinity, but I do believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God.
Also I haven’t been baptised with water and I am in a situation where right now I don’t know exactly how to do it.

To be honest I am interested in getting to the prayer section as soon as possible since I need all the prayers I can get.

Hi Ervin, and welcome.
The Trinity isn’t fully understood by the best of us, so that’s ok if you don’t. It’s not a qualification to being a member. We only ask that you show respect toward us that do embrace the theology of Trinity. We won’t shove it down your throat or think any less of you for not thinking or believing like we may.

as far as baptism, I would think you could find a local church that would baptize you.

Hi, My sister lives in Melbourne Florida I have a timeshare on Cocoa Beach
Come on over

Welcome. I am also a new Christian. I was 65 when I finally accepted Christ. For a long time I was either unsure God existed or I only believed in the Holy Spirit.

Your life is about to change. You will find peace and joy you never had before. But you will also be given a calling to serve others. The people on this board are here to help you on your journey.

I too struggled with the Bible. Except for a tradition or two about wearing a veil, I do believe it is the word of God. It is a guide book. It is a gift to come to the Lord. Many people are called but few are chosen.

When you are ready share your gifts with others. This will keep your own faith strong. Remember the most important commandment is to love God and others as you love yourself. With this as your foundation you cannot go wrong.

I found it helped me to always be open minded. Then the Holy Spirit can rush into your life and give you grace.

I believe God loved me even before I found his Son and now I am happy to reciprocate.

I will put you in my prayers. I spend at least two hours a day in prayer as I have found it really works. My favorite prayers are "God help me," and "thy will be done."

I love to hear people's story of salvation. I do not know if I would be alive today if were not for God the Father, Christ the Son, and Spirit, the Comforter [Holy Spirt]. I was suicidal before I found the Trinity.

Hold you head up high and rejoice . . .❤

Thanks brothers and sisters. I am interested in interacting, learning and praying.
Due to the virus internet is becoming one of the ways for us to worship.

Hi Ervin! I know you from another forum. I didn't know about your Muslim father though.
About the Trinity... remember Jesus spoke of His Father and Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to believers. One God revealed in three persons.

he doesn't reside in Brevard county, florida but Australia where Melbourne is named for as the founder is from Melbourne , australia
Melbourne Florida was named after postmaster Cornthwaite John Hector, who spent much of his life, in Melbourne, Victoria, Austrailia.
He was a carpet bagger.

Most early settlers of Florida were from, the North .most towns away from the Georgia line and a few sparse settlements were after the civil, war .

His memories in stories is anything but a carpet bagger .

Well respected ,no one names A coastal town over people they hated

go read a history book

go read a history book
He was known to be hated man,you made the claim now post it .

The only, incident I know of naming a town or community in spite in Brevard of that time is Gifford ,named by h.Flagler cause he hated Gifford who fought him to get his rr built ,and that's one account but accurate the other us when w.Brown a black man from. Savannah owned a homestead asked Gifford for a post office ,the post master in d.c. named it Gifford ,when the black workers under Flagler already were gone

Hector was a northener with money and ties to big business and congress
he was assigned to the south after the war to help straighten things out, i forget his job
when the government went to pay him, he instead asked for the area of Melbourne with the thousands of acres around it, and it was given to him
He used his money to make it a nice place to live, but of course kept the best of everything for himself
the ones who were hurt by him are nameless

Where is the link,Melbourne was called another name ,crane creek and not even a city just a settlement
The context you gave isn't a carpet bagger but a homestead and I recall only that for armed occupation acts .

Eau gallie predates Melbourne,as a town by three decades and before the civil war let alone near it Brevard ,it was a black community that was rebuilt in 1870 as they left it.

The man you speak left Melbourne for crescent city and was buried in Melbourne .

Listed as founder

Crane creek.

I can't find my quotes, but they all came from my investigation of carpetbaggers after the civil war.
maybe you don't think there were carpetbaggers.
maybe you think northeners all came down and passed out candy canes at Christmas.

Its quotes from, who, surely, the Brevard county ,st Lucie county would have info on that since only a handful of communities existed in Brevard in 1867.

I refuse to take oral traditions from one source ,surely the Brevard county society and archive at Titusville would have this,I can find stuff on a beach in my,county in Titusville and also information about gifford and a road I travel being cleared in archives .

I'm,well aware what a carpet bagger is ,you, said read a history book.then say take your word cuz you read up it.

If it's a book ,this would be mentioned by many sources I see daily ,local historian out of lake worth whose family goes back to the celestial railroad posts stories from Titusville to the keys with emphasis on the lagoon .Melbourne history pops up .never heard of that .

My,source of carpet baggers as well, the money for govt land granted is gonna be mentioned somewhere in a map, archived as a sale on census reports,I can post Brevard county maps pre and post civil war .

A land grant called Fleming is gonna show up,gomez, sewall ,these are Spanish royal grants .you make the claim ,I,want to verify the account .I have already seen photos of Melbourne on fb pages from the early days,1925,eau gallie.

If one is an ass,you will be mentioned.

White city has a record of a guy cheating the landowners and leaving .that's a verifiable fact .both from two sources I can post a ghost town page ,and the st.Lucie county historical society.

A thousand acres purchased would have surveys and records .crane creek ,Melbourne ,was close to the lagoon.

I have recconed old Melbourne for my photos ,poi,to find .crane creek was as it typically was near the sandridge,or river and or the barrier island ,water was the blood and life of settlers .
