yeah...kinda hit home with me....i try to -not- over-identify with my schizophrenia, but then i realized...

between my own 'stuff' and the way the community labels me, it -is- too much a part of my identity...

and i dont know what to do, except pray for healing...wholeness....

and i like how he writes that we are -all- dealing with some degree of brokenness and such, this side of Heaven...

that was a 'reality check' for me, since even now I'm kind of prone to Pollyanna-vision.

WRONG!!!...........................your identity is a being a part of the new creation in Christ. What anyone has that is a disability need not define who they are if they are truly in Christ and He in them. There will be no disabilities in the New Jerusalem. Disabilities also teaches us patience, perseverance, trust, humbleness, discipline, dependence on the Lord to bring us through those things which are hard to deal with here on earth.

1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

great article - strange story - hard to imagine anyone would get offended at God wanting to heal them

I agree with For His Glory. You have stated again and again that you are born again and belong to Christ. So why not identify yourself with Him?
