Nicodemus and the disciples could only understand with their carnal minds that Jesus came to them as a prophet teacher sent by God as it was still hidden from them that Jesus was the Son of God. It would not be until the day of Pentecost that the Holy Spirit would open their Spiritual eyes and ears to the mysteries of God laid out before them by His Spirit indwelling them, Acts Chapter 2.

John 2:1-11 The wedding in Cana in Galilee was the first miracle Jesus did with the wine and the water. Notice in John 2:4 Jesus tells his mother mine hour is not yet, meaning the hidden secrets of God were not yet ready to be revealed. Jesus brings his disciples to the wedding to show them the wonders and glory of God through the renewal of the water (word) and the new best wine (Holy Spirit). It was then Mary and the disciples believed on Him, but yet the hidden mystery of who He is was not yet revealed.

Matthew 16:13-20 Jesus asked His disciples who men thought He was and men thought Him to be only a prophet. When Jesus asked Peter who He was it was revealed to him by God that Jesus truly is the Son of God, but other than that the rest of the hidden mystery would not be revealed yet as it was not yet the hour that would come.

Matthew 26:34 Jesus told Peter that before the night was over that Peter would deny Him three times. We read in vs 69-75 that Peter did deny Jesus three times as again the hidden mystery had not been revealed by God, but the hour was now at hand that it would soon be revealed to all the Disciples. Jesus had to ascend up to the Father so the Holy Spirit could be brought down to finally indwell and reveal the hidden mysteries of God which were the teachings of Christ for now their Spiritual eyes and ears were opened for knowledge and understanding, Acts 1:1-11.

John 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Even today we know in part, have seen in part just like the disciples did, but yet there are still mysteries of God that He wants to reveal to us and can only do this by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that continues to open our Spiritual eyes and ears to see and hear what God is speaking to us in that which He will reveal to those who are His own.

The day is at hand as it was in the days of the disciples that all things will be revealed to us by God's Holy Spirit as this is our day of Pentecost for all who will believe that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Jesus has died and risen from the dead inorder to save us.
He is coming again.

Yet you are saying there is something else we need to know?

So, if you are witnessing Jesus to a non-believer is what you have said here is all they need to know?

Sorry, but there is so much more for us to learn as we could never exhaust all the teachings of Christ. If that's all we needed to know then what is the point of reading and studying the Bible.

1st corinthians 2:
9 However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”[b]—
the things God has prepared for those who love him—
10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.[c] 14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments,

yes there is so much to know and none of it comes over night 1cor 2:9 i use the term baby you aint seen nothing yet... yes that is a old rock song by BTO but we aint seen nothing compared to what God has for is. the sky is the limit .our growth/satisfaction never stops...

Sorry but your post has nothing to do with talking to a non believer, it is about a further revelation.

Yes we will never exhaust all there is to learn about Jesus in the bible. That is partly why the revelation is finished.
There is nothing more to be revealed untill Jesus comes again.

The bible, Gods revelation of himself, Jesus etc is closed.

Every group that started following a leader having further revelations from God has always ended up in major error, whether in Jonestown or as JW, mormons, chrisidelphians, Moonies, christian scientists etc.

This is perfectly correct. The apostle-prophet John made this quite clear in the last book of the Bible and its last chapter. As Peter said, we have in Scripture whatever is necessary for life and godliness. Therefore when men come along claiming to be prophets or having new revelations, we are not to be deceived.

At the same time Christians should be aware that God has hidden a great deal from us, and that will only be revealed after we are perfected, and after the Second Coming of Christ. There were some things which the apostles John and Paul were not allowed to reveal in the Bible.

And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. (2 Cor 12:3,4)

And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. (Rev 10:4)

And this was only the tip of the iceberg.

Just as God's love is beyond our comprehension so heaven will be far more than we can think or imagine.

I was replying to your post #2 in regards to what I said about witnessing Christ to a non-believer.

The revelations of Christ are not finished as you say.

You said: "Jesus has died and risen from the dead in order to save us.
He is coming again."

While this is true, yet there is the why, when, how of His return. What are we to watch for? How are we to be prepared? Why and who will be saved and saved from what. What is the culture and history that leads up to His second coming.

I hope you can see there is so much to learn about the deeper studies that God wants to reveal to us.

Everything from Genesis to Revelations are foreshadows and revelations from God as He reveals all He wants for us to learn all we need to learn before Christ returns. We have no other leader than the Holy Spirit that reveals all the mysteries that are contained in the Bible as they are revealed to all who have Spiritual ears and eyes to see and hear what the Spirit is speaking to us.

If one is talking to a nonchristian one finds out where they are and move on from there.
A nonchristian will not understand the 'deeper things' of Jesus.
These deeper things are found in the bible, or if like Paul one is caught up into heaven. What one learns there is not for public disclosure.

Matthew 13:11 King James Version (KJV)
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
King James Version (KJV)
matt13:10,The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”
11 He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12 Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 13 This is why I speak to them in parables:

We through Jesus and the Spirit can understand the parables found in the bible.

But it is distorting scripture to say these verses tell us that there will be future revelations.

Of course a non-believer would not understand the mysteries of God found in the scriptures. You missed the whole point I was trying to make about witnessing Christ to others. It's like a reporter with three questions that need answered for a good report. What, why, when and how. You can't just walk up to someone and just say Jesus died and God raised Him from the grave and then just walk away. It's called planting seeds.

We as a Christian already know that of Christ and know He will return, but yet the hidden mysteries for example of when will He return and what leads up to His return in what we are to watch for are those hidden mysteries that are revealed to us by the Holy Spirit who reveals them to us when we study the scriptures.

Parables are analogies as in likened to other things type of teachings, not revelations. Revelation means unveiling of the hidden mysteries that are Spiritually contained in scripture. The carnal mind can not perceive the things of the Spirit. It takes the Holy Spirit to open our Spiritual eyes and ears to hear the revelations of God that the Holy Spirit teaches us.

Hey Glory Girl. This is a very good presentation of God's Word and His precepts. Because you are one of the very grounded people in the things of Christ, I want to recommend for your study, a converted Rabbi who has a vast ministry and one worth wile studying. He does make several pleas for funding and you'll have to look beyond that to capture our Lord's value in this work of His.

I highly recommend this "last days' ministry to the lost world of Jews and Gentiles as well. Rabbi Schneider is a Pastor as well as a World wide Jewish Evangelist. His YouTube site is.... DiscoveringTheJewishJesus.com

What? With all due respect, Brother...how could you say that? Even scripture says that in the last days that Knowledge will be increased. That means the knowledge of God, also, if not the main meaning.

And it is happening! Everywhere, the messages are very different than they were even just 20 years ago. Many new things are being revealed to people.

...and we are to accept these things, and believe...as a little child. Which is trust without understanding. Look to the unseen, and lean not upon Carnal understanding.

You bet there is, Brother!

Now that we have been born again...our real education begins! And I bet that it will continue even after the day of the Lord when we are in Heaven!.

Not exactly. While knowledge of all kinds will increase (which is true) the Bible says that (a) iniquity will abound, (b) faith will diminish, and (c) seducers will wax worse and worse. And that is true also.
