I wish I had some of that stuff I threw away.
Be worth a lot of money now.

Take cars for example, my husband had a 67 Dodge Coronet RT 440, probably worth near 60,000 now.

I love antiques!
I will never throw them away now.

Every time I watch that show, I end up cleaning my house, lol.

At least, I haven't found dead cats that are smashed like pancakes, lol.
Most of those people are just plain lazy.
I mean food laying around, trash just piled up, disgusting.
I'm not sure that it's exactly laziness that causes it...
Love of stuff is the primary thoughts going through my mind.

But what got me was when DCS was threatening to take away their kids and the city council was going to take their house away because of the mess in the yard...and the guy still wasn't sure about what to get rid of...
One thing for certain was that he was going to get rid of the entire house and kids if he didn't make a decision about what to get rid of.

Most things can be replaced. There's a ton of junk sellers on eBay...
Can't replace kids. (I might want to from time to time...but not really)

But some things are more important than stuff.
And they can't seem to differentiate between the two.

"I am going to use that one day"
I'm going to use this on Saturday for....

Huge difference between the two statements.

I better put this up so it will be available later...
I have no idea where I can store this for later use (because all storage is full) so I'm going to put this here temporarily...

One is healthy...one statement is signs of mental health issues.

I'm serious about my mom being a hoarder. There's so much stuff in the house that it's cramped and cluttered in every room.

The only thing of mine that I refuse to let go are my stuffed animals, (and yes I am a twenty-eight nearly twenty-nine year old woman who still sleeps with stuffed animals ) and although I am certainly not a neat freak, I'm nowhere near a slob either.
Don't worry, you're not as weird as me. I dress up as a dog for fun :)
(Still loving stuffed animals isn't weird at all if you ask me)

What about fishing tackle?
Lures, line, poles...

What fishing tackle?. I'm so useless with fishing gear I always go unprepared. I went fishing the other day with one swivel and one hook in the hopes I didn't lose it I was too lazy to buy more, I don't even know where all my fishing gear is, lol. I need to buy more gear. I don't use lures but I should buy a popper and stikbait. They good.

I'm guessing StoveBolts is feeling much lighter and happier now that the news about the layoffs at his job are settled - am i right?
I was prepared either way, God always provides. But yes, I am glad that is over. It's only a matter of time before the next crisis hits lol.
BTW, wife started selling part of the hoard and made a couple hundred bucks! She's been unemployed since I think June from an injured shoulder and she had surgery Dec 13???? I yhink? That's the date. It made her feel good.

That's awesome! I love seeing what I don't need anymore go for money on eBay or a yard sale. In fact, its a good way to shop. Filter everything through the "how long before this ends up in the yard sale pile?"-filter.

I have two family members who think this way - the I'm going to use this some day way. One has let it go way too far, but it started out as being thrifty and re-purposing things. The other is just kinda lazy about getting rid of old, outdated things.
I think the former might have borderline mental health issues because they get very defensive about the situation. Its not fun. Someone is going to have to clean up that mess if they don't.

I know what you are saying, but I was mainly referring to things like the fridge that has mold and maggots, disgusting.
Some just throw their trash on the floor, fecal matter, rats, dead animals that they couldn't find...
This is something that I wouldn't want to collect, lol.

Then you have the ones that shop, because it was a good bargain, some do this to help cope with some kind of hurt.
I have seen some, bless their hearts, that hoard food, because they went through the great depression, not having much.
Holding on to anything they can get.
