for the 2nd time, ALDI had a good price of egg nog. tis the season, I suppose. and yet...

I'm kind of thinking I can do this, myself. maybe...

anyone have success with DIY egg nog (Non-alcoholic, please) ? I'm thinking I wanna spice mine up...more cloves? -sigh-

do you think one could add something to spice it up big time, like a tiny bit of cayenne or something? or is that just...crazy talk? I'm asking because it seems that vanilla+some hot spices, or even chocolate+some hot spices got well together and...I'd like to whip something up that's sweet and heats things up, too, if possible.

other than that...-any- DIY egg nog recipes would be appreciated. I know...The Internet can tell me how to make my own egg nog, but I dunno...I've tried some online recipes, and the results were -not- stellar...like the time The Internet told me I could use olive oil instead of butter in making an alfredo sauce. that was a disaster. :-(

so....ok. thanks. :)

Cinnamon, allspice, and cloves.

Those are the spices you want.

The rest is sugar, milk, and eggs.

Quantities?
I'll have to get back to you on that.

well...i was in the apt., with no dishwasher and -very- limited counter space. blah. but now, i have a dishwasher and not too much counter space, but plenty of storage space, so i could use it and put it away for a bit. hmmmm....

thanks, JonDB. I think I will look up recipes, now. store bought egg nog is good, but...I think I could make it better myself.

You might look at "boiled custard to drink" as well as egg nog.

Eggs in egg nog are "cooked" by the alcohol in the drink. (Not really but they are sanitized". So you probably want boiled custard...it really isn't boiled either but...
