Let's say I was a devout christian, but my wife was atheist. Imagine we both died suddenly, and I went to heaven, while she went to hell.

Obviously, the knowledge that my dearest loved one is currently in unending and excruciating agony would horrify me, and it would be impossible to enjoy heaven as long as she's in hell.

How does God get around this issue?

No.

"Let's say..."
No, let us not say.

:grumpy Let us not take an imaginary journey that ends with God being incapable of Justice.

Incapable of justice? Imaginary Journey? This is entirely plausible, and has happened plenty of times in the past. So you're saying that God has no plans or solutions for this issue?

That knowledge might horrify you now, but how do you know it will in heaven?

The fact that such knowledge would horrify me is a part of what it means to love. If heaven is a place where I don't feel bad about my spouse burning in hell, then heaven would be a place where I don't love.

You got to read the bible :study It says we'll be changed and those in hell will be remembered no more.

No, and I'll thank you to not try to put words in my mouth. I'm saying that your premise is transparent and this conversation is unworthy of you.

:grumpy Now you pretend to be incapable of understanding the face value of words?

Define transparent, indeed. Harrumph!

I just want to make sure I'm not "putting words in your mouth", as you said. I thought I understood what you were saying before, and apparently I didn't, according to your response.

What specific part of my response (herein quoted) do your now say you can not understand?

YOUR PREMISE:
Let's say I was a devout christian, but my wife was atheist. Imagine we both died suddenly, and I went to heaven, while she went to hell.

MY REPLY:

I thought you were saying that I was contriving a scenario that God is incapable of resolving. Based on this interpretation of your response, I replied that this does indeed happen, and then I asked if you meant to say that God can't help these people.

Perhaps you were close to understanding what I tried to say but this remains to be seen.

...that I was contriving a scenario... :thumbsup

Okay, please, enough of this. You've been rude to me, constantly dodging around my question and accusing me of being disingenuous in my use of your responses, and when I ask for clarification to make sure I don't misunderstand you again, you accuse me of pretending to be an imbecile. Please, please, please, either stop being so roundabout and demeaning, or leave this thread.

:lol What I actually said was that this conversation is unworthy of you.
