for work ambition
for being a good Christian witness
for staying positive
for maintaining good mental health

like most people, it varies. But I find the above list works as a whole. If my prayer life is good, I will take more care what I eat, for example.

I have found physical fitness a key to motivation. My leg fitness has declined recently. To the point I avoid walking long distance. I have embraced swimming and cycling a little. Long distance walking is a real key to psychological health imo. Oh well....one day...

I will take this one by one
for prayer- I am gradually increasing the state of my prayer life. I am taking a course on prayer and supplication online at the moment.
for physical fitness- I am not all that great with this. But I am trying my best as of late.
for health and a good diet- I have lost nearly ten pounds this past month. Hoorayyy! :biggrin
for being a good Christian witness- I don't leave home much due to COVID, but I try to minister online when the opportunity arises.
for staying positive- I have been amazing with this so far! I just adjusted my medication for chronic depression and I have never felt better!

Thanks for sharing Kemi. Well done on losing the weight. That is something I need to do.
Sounds like you are tracking well overall. Great to hear. Your motivation will be appreciated on here.

thanks friend! I try my best.

I am highly motivated in all areas except exercise. Since retiring, I tend to be sedentary. I am on the computer a lot working on my new book.

What motivates me is the Holy Spirit, who fills me with energy, and my desire to please God because he saved my life and comforted me when I was suicidal. I am at my happiest when I help others so sometimes I neglect myself.

When it comes to motivation, I wanted to mention something I learned a long time ago. Sometimes you cannot wait for motivation. You have to "act as if" you are motivated by doing what you would do if you were inspired. This is also referred to as "fake it until you make it," and "feel the fear and do anyway."

This ideology changed my life so I wrote a whole book about it. It is called, The Art of Changing.

The bottom line is that motivation does not always come first. Sometimes it is followed by action. So do the right thing. Make it a habit. After awhile, you will feel great and wonder what took you so long.

for prayer -- could be better
for physical fitness -- could be better
for health and a good diet -- better than it used to be, but I had to get diabetes before I began to change my diet
for work ambition -- doing pretty good here
for being a good Christian witness -- decent I guess
for staying positive -- hard to do right now
for maintaining good mental health -- mental health isn't the best right now, but it's trending upwards, so.....guess I'm doing alright

Excuses. We all make excuses for not doing what we ought.
I skipped swimming this morning. "Poor humble soul had a sore neck". Well I could have spent half an hour warming it up, stretching it, before and after. But no...woke up grumpy, skipped swimming, had coffee and still grumpy ...as well as guilty. ?
