1TI 1:15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

Honestly, how often do we put ourselves on the bottom of the list. Yet, Paul, one of the greatest evangelists of His time and our Faith considered himself the least, even below unbelievers. That's real humility.

Hi there!

:biggrin

Not hn (I was), but eimi (I am). (Robertson's)

The redeemed are still sinners, just sinners saved by grace.

I see myself with a troubled look at this?? 'Such were some of you before ye were washed'.. means what? Look at the trash heap above that verse! Now, am 'i' still like that?? And Paul, you ask about?? In Acts 8 & 9 we see that he was the Partaker of persecution & death! He was perhaps the chief instigator of Stephen's death. Now, after he submitted his will to Christ, are you saying that he was still the chief sinner? God/Forbid!!

Remember that it was (Saul) Born Again Pauls pen that gave us 2 Corinthians 12:9 & Philippians 4:13 Is this Truth or not??

My suggestion is that when 'we' post scripture for Gospel, that we try to include the Everlasting Gospel with the condition & promises. What I am saying is, who in the Plan of Salvation would even want to be a Christian if they had to continue on in the trite & filth that they were involved in before they had this profession? Not me!

Maybe these ones need to look at the Revelation 17:5 verse real close? Not to be mis/understood, I am relating to the messages posted not anyone's 'mind or personage', OK?

Elijah, I'm not saying anything, Paul was. He showed us an example of humility many won't dare think about. How often do we remember that one sin is as wreched as a million in the eyes of God? Yet paul opens himself up, knowing many don't see that perception. I think it's an example to learn from.

'i' do also, & Rev. 3:16-17 shows as you say, most do not.

Well I think that he was referring to the fact that he was actively involved in the murders of many Christians and is not so much stressing his own humility (which is really another form of pride in proudly wearing one's "humble pin"), but is stressing the greatness of the grace of God to even have the mercy to save one of the ringleaders of the murderous factions who killed God's own people.... not something to be very proud about.
