I always seem to feel as if I do not do enough for the Kingdom of God. Mostly all I do is work anymore. I tell my testimonies to as many people as possible. I have been helping the poor more than I used to, but it doesn't seem enough to me. So I pray about it, and ask for the Lord to use me today, in some way. A small way, a big way...whatever is His will.

So I'm driving home from a late night service call one night this past week...and suddenly I see a car (SUV) parked in the middle of the street with it's lights on and 4 ways flashing, broke down obviously...I immediately think to stop and try to help in some way, but I am going at a pretty good clip and even though I am slowing down to take a look, I pass them. They start flashing their headlights to let me know, yes we need help, come back!

It is a one way street so I can't back up, so I have to go around. But it isn't just circle the block here. Canton's street system is very weird and totally messed up in my mind. I tried to circle around so I could go back and help, and the streets wont let me easily so it isn't long before, I don't know where exactly they was! I still GPS my way around and I am past that part of the trip on the GPS. So I realize...I can't go help them now! I wanted to, but I was kind of lost at that point. It was dark out and I'm not sure what street I was on. I was following the GPS home, turn here turn there and not really paying close attention to the street names and stuff. That made me feel bad that I could not go back to help.. So I prayed for their safety and that they get help.

They prolly thought I was a punk for not coming back to help. :nonono

I'm sure you made more of an effort than anyone else did. I've been in this situation where I wanted to help but the car was on the other side of the highway and I'm a girl so wouldn't have been able to push the car myself anyway.
Don't beat yourself up over it, just keep looking for opportunities to do unto others . .

What can you do more for the Kingdom of God than Jesus has done?.

What can you do more for the Kingdom of God than Jesus has done?. You said you feel as if you have not done enough for the poor.

Don't try challenge or compete with Jesus works. You won't win. It's that simple. But Jesus knows your heart is seeking righteousness.

Jesus said the poor will always be with you. Don't fight his words as the world does. Let's eliminate poverty yay socialism and communism.

Jesus set an example and we all want to follow him, but let's all be honest with ourselves. No one can hit his level. He was sinless, auto fail for all followers.
I'm not trying to compete with anyone or Jesus. Sometimes I just feel like I could do more, like I should be doing more. Nevertheless, your post did give me slight pause and also makes me remember something that the Lord told me awhile back. I was feeling sort of like an un-profitable servant and was lamenting my backslidden years. I was praying talking to the Lord and I asked Him, Lord, where would I be right now if I had been walking with you all of these years and had not backslidden?

And His answer was as clear as day and immediate in my heart...You know what He said? He said, right where you are now...and that blew my mind!

Sooo...point well taken, Brother! I needed to hear that right now...Thanks!

I think when people become followers of Christ they seek righteousness and to do good so feel they should always be doing more.

I think many of us feel like we do not do enough for God's kingdom. God doesn't want our ability as we all have that, but He wants our availability. Whether it's the big things, small things or even a few things we do in servitude, we are at least doing something when we are capable of doing something.

We all have had missed opportunities and I'm sure many more along the way. Edward at least you tried to get back to help, but like @KevenK said it might not have been a good thing to actually find them as it could have been a set up as only God would know for sure and possibly kept you from finding them again. You did do the best thing and prayed they would get the help they needed so don't beat yourself up over it.

It's all about the giving. To give to anyone either less fortunate or just in a needs help in the moment situation, Blesses us in many ways. It also shows glory to God and obedience, which puts a smile upon the Lord's face and He can't help but to drip some grace and favor upon us and even move our sanctification forward! It really is, more blessed to give than to receive. The proof is in the pudding. Churches are big business! It's no secret that many Christians give generously to the church. So much so that a few wonder about corruption in the church. If you don't trust giving to your church, then by-passing them altogether and start giving to the ones in need directly. They are not hard to spot, lol.

It is not more than what Jesus did in any sense. But it is the heart of Jesus and the character, and how He wants us to be! Jesus gave Him self. And we are made in His image so must take on His image and walk in love, taking care of our own, releasing someone, even if if just for a moment, lol...from a difficulty and a dependence on the government of man. Besides, it feels pretty good to help someone out.

Matthew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
