I think its the way the culture is shifting in the US. I -always- vote democrat, but the thing is...it used to be that one could be cautious about abortion and still be a democrat, both as a person on the street and a politician. now, the DNC has apparently decided that although some of their members can disagree on economic policy, abortion on demand is the.absolute.position of the DNC.
this is just...frustrating, and sad. very few in the GOP actually care about abortion, is the thing...its been useful as a political football, that's about it. The DNC "cares" if it gets them key votes, which it does. meanwhile...
with mass incarceration, ecological destruction, loss of upwarb mobility, fewer and fewer real opportunities for the poor up to middle class (what's left of it, anyway), and an increasingly sick culture...
im wondering if all the gay pride, gender deconstruction, heavy drug abuse, deep set poverty, high divorce rate, falling birth rate, high suicide rate, everything, everything combined, from the right to the left and everywhere in between, might add up to mean...
US culture has largely disintegrated. here and I would think elsewhere (cant speak for elsewhere), The Culture of Death -is- mainstream, and its here to stay. :-(
