It don't matter what qualifications people have they usually start on a lower wage when they work for someone. Starting rates even if your qualified are usually low.

I worked for a company with no experience and no qualifications after 3 years was on 2 dollars less and hour than qualified tradesman.

I know that but its the do boy ,set up to weed out people

I agree one hundred percent with everything that you have to say. I think that too much homework is stressful for kids and that they should have more time to play with their friends. I'm on the fence whether they should completely cut out homework or not though. I guess that there really isn't any need for it. Just let kids be kids.
Yep. Too much homework is not good. I saw a vid about a Japanese girl who went through that brutal Japanese educational system making excellent grades. She then went on to work for a corporation with brutal working hours and committed suicide 8 months later. Too much work.....not enough living.

I do think that there has to be a balance. we as a culture have lost said balance.

Yes, balance. 8 hours per day is enough for children. They don't need 8 plus 3 additional at home.

Jobs today require a lot more learning than jobs of yesteryear. Concentrate on teaching them skills they will need to earn their daily bread. Lots of math, practical skills like wiring, how to invest their 401k, and such. There is just too much to learn today job related to force children to also learn non job related subjects.

Those who are interested in memorizing long lists of state capitals can study it on their own. Lots of public libraries, and free courses on the Internet to teach such things.

If job skills didn't take so many extra hours to learn today, they could still teach the others in a reasonable balanced amount of time. It doesn't matter if an electrician can recite long lists of French kings, it only matters if an electrician can safely wire a house or factory. It takes lots and lots of hours to learn how to safely do electricity, and even more to safely do surgery.

Targeted education is the way to go.

So map reading skills ,let alone geography shouldnt be taught .trust those gps.maps are never wrong .

I have seen goggle earth quit on known adress ,claim a one hundred old former city was still there ,maps show three different hospital locations of the same name.imagine you don't know the area and your GPS puts you to the empty grazed lot .

I have heard a Gps take a driver through a closed off road and she followed it to her death locally .

Maps are off by purpose because they are copyrighted.I use old survey maps to find history ,I was sent one up date showing both locations of an over pass,an old ng unit .when it switched to topography ,it showed really old stuff, with new .

So yes geography is needed .

All over looking for a 500 year old Hernandez trail from Jupiter to st .August ine. It was used to clear the canal that connects the South relief canal to one that is on the county line .it was also used to clear another road . nothing remains .

All work no play. Workoholics. The mind is just brainwashed with work and money.
Not that disagree ,bit try making it here on one job, shoot I have seen more time off on the military time then being off .but that's going into politics .

Friends don't pay bills, the old adage which is older then me.time and no money ,money and no,time .i heard that in the early 90s.my fil,not perfect also has implied it .he made money with only a 9th grade education.retired as a fire man.he built homes ,ran a bar and raced on his off time..he also surveyed before .great history resource .

8 hours per day for 12 years is enough to teach children basic job skills. Supplemented by college for engineering, medicine, and science careers. Supplemented by apprenticeships for those in trades. They just need to concentrate on basics, and forget about wasting so much time on nonsense.

They do horrible things to people here in the US as well. Florida has an unconstitutional horror show going on with that Baker Amendment. People with psycho/emo problems are being funneled to Florida from other states and then being involuntarily incarcerated in Florida's Psych industry with no legal recourse even though it's unconstitutional.

All 50 states have a type of the bAker act, they can only hold you three days. My brother and sister were baker acted. It is not perfect but these two were pondering harning others. They were admitted .

Hey everybody, welcome to another edition of tonight's news. :) I don't think that we have a very long report to do tonight so let's get right to it then shall we? :salute

First of all in tonight's news apparently there's a new device that will alert you when your child has a dirty diaper. Here's more of the rather interesting details.

And an earthquake that hit five point nine on the Richter Scale hit Puerto Rico yesterday but so far there haven't been any reports of injuries. Here's more of the information.

Also this wedding proposal was straight out of a fairytale. :')

And also a suspected tire shop burglar from Bartow County Georgia called 911 for help after reportedly getting stuck underneath a pile of tires. Here's more on the story. (And this just goes to show that crime doesn't pay! :nono)

Finally in tonight's news believe it or not a high school student has discovered a new planet! Here's more. :shock

That's all for tonight's news! Have a wonderful rest of the night and stay tuned for more news to come. :yes
