Is A New Moon A Sign of the Rapture?

Will Rosh Hashanah September 9-11 going to be the time of the rapture?

It is interesting that Jesus Christ said that he will come like a thief in the night. Since a thief abhors any chance of being caught then the very best time to be a 'thief in the night' is when there is a moonless night, namely a New Moon. The New Moon will occur during Rosh Hashanah September 11th..... 9-11 2018.

Additionally if one considers that Lazarus being raised from the dead is, in fact, symbolic of the rapture then Jesus Christ's saying in John 11:9 signifies the time of the rapture.

9 Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the daytime will not stumble, for they see by this world’s light. 10 It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.”

It is only at the equinox of Fall or Spring does the day have 12 hours. Therefore the rapture will happen either in the Fall or Spring when day and night have equal 12 hours. The Fall Equinox for 2018 falls around September 22nd which will coincides with Yom Kippur which is September 18-19

Another point is that when Jesus Christ said that there will be two men working in the field one will be taken (hint: the rapture) and the other left behind and two women will be grinding at the mill - one will be taken (hint: rapture) and one will be left behind. (Matthew 24: 40 -41).

One can conclude that the rapture will take place during the harvest time as the men will be working in the field harvesting and the women will be grinding what is harvested. This coincides with Sukkot - In 2018, the "festival of booths" begins at sundown on Sunday, Sept. 23 and lasts until sundown on Sunday, Sept. 30.

So you see I believe that the rapture, if it were to happen this year, as it is a jubilee year, will occur either just before Rosh Hashanah September 9th when there is a New Moon or around October 9th when there is another New Moon.

So even if the rapture is still a ways off into the future I believe that its occurrence will coincide with Rosh Hashanah - Yom Kippur - and Sukkot each and every year.

Believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and rest assured that you'll be included in the rapture when Jesus will return for his faithful just before mankind's final judgment called the Tribulation and be taken up to heaven to live an eternal existence with God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit.

God Bless

The last Trumpet
THE FIRSTFRUITS (The Rapture) (REVELATION 14:1-5)
This is at the time of the sounding of the 7th or last trumpet.

1 Corinthians 15:52 (KJV) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Of course, only God knows the time of the rapture. I am only pointing out what Gods word says.

Some food for thought.

And 2 Thessalonians 2:3 (KJV) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Here again Gods word tells us that the rapture is not until 2 thing happens; The falling away & that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.

that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition is revealed at mid-point into the 7 year- covenant.

Has the 7 year- covenant been signed yet? (no)

Have we seen any of the trumpets yet? (no)

No man will know the year, day or the hour of the rapture.

All we can do is keep our faith and watch the signs that Jesus gave us Matt 24

As deeply as I love to dig into Bible verses, I see that 1 Thessalonians 5:2 says simply means that we do not know when Jesus will come back. Only God knows that time, and it will be when we least expect it (maybe if we reach "world peace" or some kind of utopia?)!

While I agree the feasts are shadows of things to come, and the future events are fulfilled at those times, I wanted to point out an error in reasoning regarding hours. In Jesus' time, all days had 12 hours no matter what time of the year it was as they simply divided the day into 12 equal (or nearly equal) parts. It is not until modern times that we used equinoctial hours. Since such hours did not exist in Jesus' time, its an anachronism to use equinoctial hours and apply it to what he was saying then.

With all due respect, a new moon can coincide with the rapture. Lots of interesting things are happening with the moon, including today's event that will be completely blocked from my view due to heavy cloud cover. It's also interesting that this is the year of Jubilee, and the feast of trumpets does seem to speak of Christ's return.

That's a lot of things coinciding, but a new moon cannot predict anything by itself.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd be totally fine with the rapture happened right . . . .now! . .

Ok . . .wait for it . . . . . now!

Hmm . . guess we have to keep looking out for "that blessed hope"
:)

Yes it could coincide, but I was responding to the question: "Is A New Moon A Sign of the Rapture?"

Exactly.
And because there is a significant difference between a "coincidence" and a "sign", the answer to that particular question must be: "No."

I believe we are on the same page.

:oops

I have this marked on my calendar and STILL got it wrong. This coming Friday, 7/27 is the lunar event I was thinking of. Something about the longest possible eclipse, combined with something else. As near as I can tell, it'll occur from 1:20-5:20 PM local time to me; not a particularly good time for viewing

I do believe that everything that has to happen before our Lord's return has already happened, and that it's not nearly enough to merely "be ready" for His return. We should be "on fire," as in the offering of consecration. Walking as He walked, doing what He did, being God's hand extended, scattering His goodness everywhere we can ...:pray

I hope you are aware that there is a new moon every 30 days.
But Jesus is not coming again every 30 days.
So a new moon cannot be a sign of the "rapture."

From the OP, the author means the new moon at the feast of the Trumpets. Not every month. Using lunar observation to start the month, all the feasts in Leviticus 23 save one is after the month was determined. Only the feast of the trumpets is where "no man knows the day nor the hour" of the feast. It depends on whether or not the moon is sighted, so one has to "watch" so they know when to start the month and the feast suddenly commences (which they should be ready for by watching the signs). This is a perfect counterpart in nature depicting the end times and I'm sure not a coincidence. God defined the holy days that way,

If you see a 2nd additional moon (new moon) :) I would state the plot thickens. Otherwise the moon we have circles the earth every 27.2 days.
Seriously I would state rev 11 is a sign that can't be mistaken. 1260 days of testimony in Jerusalem. After that testimony the beast and false prophet who acts in his behalf would have been revealed to the world and their reign is only 42 months in which time they will be the cause and cause astonishing destruction in this world. The great tribulation. Which ends instantly as Jesus comes suddenly and with great surprise to the unbelievers to pronounce judgment in favor of the saints of the most high. Unbelievers -Those who were deceived into worshipping and following the beast because they did not believe God and repent of their evil ways. In fact they took joy in the killing of Gods two faithful witnesses.

Not sure why you mentioned the moon orbits in 27.2 days. Yes, there are other months sidereal, tropical, draconian, etc but the calendar is based on the synodic month of about 29.5 days. This is a little more than the 27 day orbit because in the meantime the earth has revolved some so that the moon has to revlove a little more to align with the earth-sun. A similar thing occurs with the rotations of the earth in a year is about 366.25 but one revolution offsets it by one day so there are only 365.25 days. So the earth rotates 366 times but the sun goes around 365 times.

The bottom line is that the month is determined by the earth-sun alignment, not the constellation of the zodiac that the moon occupies.
