Is There Any Such Thing As An Atheist?

The following is possible:

We can not know for certain that there is any such thing as an
atheist. Just because some men say they lack belief in the existence
of God does not mean that they actually DO lack belief in the
existence of God. On Christian lights, God says there is no
such thing as an atheist.

Romans 1:18 says that humans "suppress the truth." Atheists are part
of humanity, so Romans 1:18 applies to them also.

Romans 1:19-20 says "since what may be known about God is plain to
them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the
world God's invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have
been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that
people are without excuse."

Note the particulars in Romans 1:19-20
{1) There is information that can be known about God.
{2} This information is plain to men.
{3} God Himself has made it plain to them.
{4} It has been plain to them since the creation of the world.
{5} God's eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen
{6} All this in understood from what God created.
{7} Therefore men are without excuse {for not believing in God.}

Romans 1:19-20 is the germ principle of the Teleological Argument
for the existence of God -- the argument from the Intelligent Design
of the Earth and the Universe.

So?

So in light of Romans 1:19-20 and Romans 1:18 is there any such thing
as an atheist?

This is the scripture that comes to light in my spirit when someone tells me they are an atheist. God has made it to where they don't have any excuse for standing in front of him and saying they didn't know he existed.

Also, this scripture shows why they don't want to believe in God.

John 3:19-21 "This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

This is specifically talking about hearing about Jesus, but I'm sure that before Jesus people didn't believe in God for the same reason. They want to hide. They aren't hiding from anything....they just don't want to face the truth for whatever reason.

An atheist is nothing more than one who does not believe in the existence of God. Are they unapproachable, no, as many have come to know God and His Son Christ Jesus just like all of us who once had no knowledge or understanding.

Of course one is not going to believe in something that they can not use their five senses to reason with as no one can understand that which is Spiritual when they are yet carnal minded. Although they do like to debate the scriptures even quoting them to try and prove their point that there is no God of all creation.

Psalms 14 says a fool has said in his heart there is no God. A fool has many meanings, in this context it is someone who does not consider God. Today they are known as atheists. I wonder what they would have been called back then.
