This testimony of when God delivered to me 2 pounds of coffee is my favorite because He did this for me because I decided not to pray for some when I was out. A lot of people have prayers answered like Lord Bring me some work so I can earn money for bills or food and I almost did this too because bills were high and work was slow. But before I did I remembered the scripture that says don't worry about what you will eat or what you will wear says, so I decided not to pray about that and just believed that something would happen, God will handle it.
I was living in Colorado after the Lord saved my life in the accident which I hurt my back and totaled my truck. In my 4 months of recovery I had time to reflect that, I had cried out to the Lord at the moment the crash became apparent to me that it was about to happen so I said Lord be with me. Reflecting on that it became obvious to me that the Lord did indeed save my life that day. So I rededicated my life to the Lord and my routine became rising early when the house is still quiet to read His word and pray. And my knowledge of scripture increased fast and one morning I sensed that...I felt like I should be doing more for the Kingdom of God and I wanted to do something, anything to be able to help. But my nice truck had been totaled and I only had an old unreliable junky van then, plus, with a hurt back, I can't walk far anymore so it's not like I could go out door to door, so what could I do?
So I prayed about it. I said, Lord can you give me something to do that I can do from my easy chair so I can help in some small way at least? It sounds kind of funny and perhaps this prayer was a wee bit facetious but it was heartfelt and I said my amen and within a minute or two my phone rang. It was an old friend of mine that I hadn't seen in a couple years asking hey Ed mind if I stop by and ask you a few questions about God, and we can visit and catch up? I said yes because I immediately knew this was the Lord answering my prayer to be able to help. So my friend said he'd be over shortly. After we hung up, I went upstairs to make me some more coffee. There was only enough left to make a half pot of coffee. So I made it and knew that, I had no money to go buy more coffee.
I thought about praying for some work to come in to supply this need for me, but I decided not to like I said. His word says, don't worry about that stuff, God knows. I wasn't trying to consciously stand on the word of God or anything like that, I just felt the truth of it and so put it out of my mind. A little time passes and I drank more coffee and waited on my friend. I went upstairs and poured myself the very last cup of coffee. If I had more coffee, it was time to put on another pot right now. Oh well...
And suddenly, ding dong the doorbell rang. It was my buddy. I answered my door and he walks in and hands me a 2 pound bag of gourmet coffee beans and says here I brought you some coffee...
He had no way of knowing that I was out of coffee. I did not mention it to him. But there it was...and at the exact time that it was time to put on another pot! In the core of my being I instantly grasped the entirety and incredulity of what had just taken place here. I asked him, why'd you bring me coffee? ...I dunno I just thought it would be a nice thing to do...
So this was kind of a 2 in 1 miracle for me. One, that He instantly answered my prayer, can I help from my easy chair Lord? So He put it in My friends heart, go ask Ed about me, and so he called me.and 2nd was ...oh, and by the way pick up some good coffee on your way over for Ed...?? Wow! Largely because in faith, I didn't ask the Lord for more coffee. So he had some delivered to me at the same time. That is just one example of how very awesome and cool that God is. Even though God has done bigger miracles for me than this, this one blows me away because it proved those scriptures and shows how much God loves us and cares for us even in little things! Praise the Lord!
