Think Star Wars beginning...with a touch of Spaceballs.

CHRISTMAS....

Yesterday I started on the stuff.
I made 4 different kinds of truffle fillings.
Ordered all kinds of ingredients for cookies. (The chocolate is already here)

I found a really good deal on dried cherries.

I also started a new batch of Gran Marnier for the "holy Grail" of candy making...the liquid liquor filled candies. (Tougher than I thought)
I have failed the past two years on these things.

But this year I was thinking of adding some chocolate covered candied orange peel and chocolate covered coffee beans and chocolate mousse centers. Also some polar bear claws (cashews, caramel, and white chocolate)

This is in addition to the dozen varieties of cookies I make...and the gingerbread houses. We got a whole subdivision of those houses to make.

The planning is over....it's execution time.

LOL... you are just jealous.

Coffee/Kahlua
Orange/Gran Marnier
Blackberry cordial
Grasshopper

They are just the beginning with the few ingredients I had in hand.
But I picked up groceries today...
Lots of flour, sugar, butter, coconut, almonds, pecans and etc for many more varieties and cookies.

But big results don't just happen.
We have to start early and plan well.

Home and hearth is a big focus...old fashioned family values that came from the "Reason for the Season" start there...

As well as Prepare for the Coming of the KING.

Yeah, it's always good to remember the Christ part of Christmas, but I also don't see any harm in shaking those jingle bells and having the kids put out milk and cookies for Santa Claus either. :) Oh and of course you can't forget the carrots for the reindeer. :wink Anyways, I was picturing something really funny while I ate dinner. What if when Jesus returns the king of rock and roll is the show opener for the king of kings? :lol

*Announcer voice* "Ladies and gentlemen I give you,.. JESUS!!!" :cool2

I find that Christmas is a great conversation starter...

My neighbor seen me in my suit today and was asking about my church attendance.
(He is a SDA so he goes on Saturday)
I told him that I was sooo sorry that he was SDA because he doesn't know how good bacon really is. (He laughed)

But then we started talking about Christmas...
He was curious about if I was a deacon or something at my church. (I'm not by deliberate choice)
But that my celebration of Christmas doesn't end with just those in my church. It involves everyone I am in contact with. His eyes got really wide at this.
That's the usual for SDA...they have their group worship and celebrations at church...not with others.

So... maybe I can get him to think a little outside of the box this year. It's ok to be a Christian, it's ok to celebrate with those "Sunday Worshippers" and possibly even pray with those outside of our denomination.
(Difficult for most)

:shock
And you seem like such a nice guy.

Orange and chocolate!
Yummy.

I don't know how you handle this...
But God bless you for it.

Have fun!
We know you really enjoy this.
Wish I lived near you.
:)

Why not, as you can go to the store anytime of the year and buy a Turkey and cook it :shrug. Why only eat it once or twice a year if you like Turkey.

Eh,.. not really around here. I don't know of any store that sells them if it isn't either one of those holidays. :confused

You wouldn't send John your address?
What are you afraid of?
He might show up with some tasty chocolate treats?

I know and understand.
There are some work arounds that are possible...

Post office boxes, mailbox drops at FedEx centers and etc.

But it's just candy and cookies.

And she could just order some from "JohnKelly Chocolate dot com"...

Of course they're going to be $4 per piece. $60/dozen

Holding that kid ....
upside down while he screams out for help...
and get a load of that grin on John's face.

What was that you were saying about safety first???
