Hey everybody, Merry Christmas ho, ho, ho!!! :biggrin2 So it's finally here, it's December first and welcome to my virtual Christmas party! I'm SO sorry for the delay but I was out all afternoon at the mall with a friend and I did manage to get a present for my niece but mostly I was there to walk around and give back to my community because giving is really what the season is all about. I gave five dollars to Salvation Army, and made a Build-A-Bear for Toys for Tots because about a little more over than two thousand years ago a child was given onto us.

This child would go on to do great things. He grew up to walk on water, turn water into wine, and feed thousands upon thousands of people. The most important thing that He would grow up to do though is bring us our salvation and reconciliation with God. However, He humbled Himself enough and entered this world in the same exact way that we do as an innocent and helpless little infant. Jesus Christ was an unselfish gift of love from the Lord and the true reason that we celebrate Christmas is to honor His birth. We can do that by showing love onto one another and giving to those less fortunate than us, and being kind and compassionate to somebody even if they aren't being that way toward us.

Although I don't have a problem with children going to go see Santa Claus at the mall and telling them what they want for Christmas, and setting milk and cookies out for him to eat, and staying up late laying in their beds to see if they can hear the sound of sleigh bells ringing, it's really about love, family, and giving onto one another since God first gave to us. After all, all that Mary and Joseph had was each other and a very special baby named Jesus. That was enough for them, and although I'm really excited about getting my Christmas presents this year, that is really enough for me as well because my faith and my family and friends are something that money just can't buy.

Have a very merry and wonderful Christmas this year. All my Christian love,

April

Ps. And please enjoy the party!

Beautiful introduction to Christmas April
Very well put together. All those lovely clips too. Thank you! I have bought an Elvis Christmas CD, can't wait to play it.

My favorite:

The little boy at the end is too cute...he just wanted to see the baby.

That was pretty cute. I can't say I blame him though for two reasons; one I would love to have seen baby Jesus as well, and two,.. the baby was absolutely one hundred percent adorable! All of the supposed "live" Nativity's that I've seen in the past years have had baby dolls for the part of the baby Jesus but probably because the weather has been too cold for real babies. Anyways, here are some of my favorite Christmas shows. :) (I know I already posted Rudolph before but he's still one of my favorites.)

The reason! Like this video so much isn't the singing (although it is first rate) but the reaction of the people. Everyday people who are busy with Christmas shopping and being generally busy from every walk of life...all stopping and memories working overtime from remembering what this time of year is about...from the "too cool" teenager to the Asian Grandmother...they all stopped what they were doing to pay homage to The King. This video was done back when flash mobs were legal...and relatively unheard of.

And not to mention that they had a lot of guts to go out there and perform it in the first place being how secular the world is today. Btw, back to Rudolph for a second before I turn back on the tunes. Do you know why the doll in that movie is a misfit toy? I never understood that. :confused

(This has to be my favorite version of this song. I'm a fan of all three of these lovely ladies and they all sing beautifully together. :))

(Btw, it is my dream to see the TSO in concert someday. :biggrin)

TSO's Carol of the Bells is awesome...
A great reason to love full orchestra again.

Isn't it though? It's definitely one of my favorites. :biggrin2 *clears throat* Anyways,.. here's a little poem to introduce the next couple of songs.

Although all of us on christianforums.net like Christmas a lot,
It is time for me to pay tribute to the ones who do not.
For although the heroes of a story make the story great,
There are also the villains that we love to hate.
For one of them is furry and green, and crabby and mean.
All the Who's down in Whoville run in fear,
Whenever the Grinch is close by and near.
Yes they all hate him every single one of the Who's,
But I still think that he reminds us the true meaning of Christmas don't you?

And the second man that everybody tries to ignore,
Is filthy rich but refuses to give to the poor.
He is old and unkind, and we all love to hate him we really do,
Give it up for Mister Ebenezer Scrooge! :mischief

Time for me to make some more chocolates...I've been to church and 4 stores and finally got finished with lunch...

And now it's time to chop and melt the chocolate...and begin coating candy centers

Great poem!

Hehe thanks! Who doesn't love The Grinch and A Christmas Carol? A Muppet Christmas Carol is my favorite of all of them. :) Probably because I love The Muppets. I was just getting my Dr. Seuss on lol! :lol Anyways,.. hear that,.. it sounds like a train whistle. All aboard for The Polar Express!

Hey guys I just wanted to mention really quickly that I forgot that Cindy Lou (both in the cartoon and live action movie but it was more apparent in the live action film especially since she was older then) never hated the Grinch but I still really like my poem. :biggrin2 Anyways, since I never had my virtual Thanksgiving dinner (partly because I forgot and partly because I wasn't feeling good :sick) I figured that I could have a virtual Christmas dinner with the choice of turkey and ham. (Btw, I'm having my final Thanksgiving dinner this Thursday after Yoga class. My mom is going to cook the turkey! :thumbsup)

Yesterday my wife and I did a lot of our "outside" Christmas decorations. Lights around our wraparound porch, wreathes, antique sleds etc.

She was actively involved. Last Christmas I had to do it all because she was recuperating from a very serious car accident that had happened in August. She was in critical condition for a while and barely walking a bit at Christmas. So it was nice to be working together on it this year.

On another note it's nice that apparently after many years I can say "Merry Christmas" again thanks to President Trump!
