17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the captivity in Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the captivity in Babylon until the Christ are fourteen generations. Matthew 1:17

14 X 40 = 560 years.

The captivity in Babylon was 70 years.

To put it another way -

From time of captivity in Babylon to when Cyrus's command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem was 70 years.

560 - 70 = 490 years

If that reasoning is to be accepted, then in order to be consistant you must also believe that it was 560yrs from David until the Babylonian captivity. Does anybody believe that? Of couse not; so the notion that a literal generation must equate to a literal 40yrs is flawed.

if the believer does not contemn/execrate the other people, then it also will not be neglected

probably continue teaching people the truth about the day of the Lord and our being gathered to Him, and how the apostle Paul warned Christians not to be decieved, and that day would not come until the lawless one is revealed

Show us scripture that proves it was not 560 years from David until the captivity.

Many people (Albright, Thiele, Galil, et.) have analyzed the old testament scriptures to establish a historical timeline. Scripture and history don't agree with your argument. Perhaps you can show us that is was 560 actual solar years from David until the Babylonian captivity? The burden of proof is on you to support your assertion.
 
There is no rapture because Jesus never mentioned one. Instead, He said it will be as in the days of Noah and Lot, when the bad guys were taken and the good guys left. I pray that I will be one of those "left behind" to rule with Jesus for a thousand years.

Evidence and prophesy are the proof of rapture as per revelation given John. Our term "Rapture" simply means "Caught up" which Jesus did give, and those saints John seen in heaven with Jesus are the evidence.

As for ruling and reigning, I want it to be with Jesus in heaven where He will be. You might think of it this way: our president in America rules over the land from Washington, and Jesus will rule from heaven with those who qualify to rule with Him.

The saints seen in heaven with Jesus are martyrs, and died to get there. A rapture is never mentioned by Jesus, either in the Gospels or the Revelation. EDITED

if I may interject some jewish thought. the torah lived out will affect the world. the torah is Jesus. when we do his bidding we change the world.the works we do is to point to the Christ. we have overcome the world and its by here we reign. we need not have to be on a throne with Christ to have this NOW.if we live out the word we don't have the same type of issues. ie violate God's commands. don't murder etc. we are blessed when we follow his Path.

During the time of Tribulation, while the almost unimaginably horrific events are happing, the Antichrist along with the False Prophet will be ruthlessly enslaving the population and slaughter those who stand in his way along with those who turn to Christ. Jesus himself tells us:

21 For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. 22 Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. Matthew 24:31-22

The “abyss” will be unlocked, releasing a host of demons on earth that torment but do not kill humans. The pain will be so severe that people will long to die, but they will not be allowed any relief.

I'm more inline to believe that when Jesus does gather up the church, the saints/their bodies will fall to the ground dead, as the bible states "for where ever carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together"

because flesh and blood cannot inherit the kindom of God, our bodies won't be needed, just as the bodies of the dead in Christ have wasted away to dust
