a term i heard another preacher say we live in the microwave oven generation .pop it in and back out in just a few minutes. compared to say how our parents was raised. the way there parents cooked meals .today we have instant dinners ..comparing this today with our Christian life .we tend to pop in and out of Church . the Flintstones generation a little dad will do ya much like the old Brylcreem hair products.. ( not many will remember this } telling my age lol my point is Church is very important and we need to go .yes we have all heard the scriptures from Hebrews not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together .. but what is that reason in acts 20 the apostle paul is addressing the Church at Ephesus . just before his departing.i do think he had a idea that troubled waters was ahead in his next journey / trip . but he tells them what will happen after he leaves .he also tells them how to prevent the wolves from coming in and killing the flock.. the wolves represent the Devils workers/ false teachers . john 10:10 the thief ( devil ) comes to kill steal and DESTROY us spiritually. Christ came to give us abundant life... lets pick up in acts 20 and READ WHILE READING TAKE time to see the words watch and remember .
acts 20: 24
But I hold not my life of any account as dear unto myself, [g]so that I may accomplish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the [h]gospel of the grace of God. 25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I went about preaching the kingdom, shall see my face no more. 26 Wherefore I testify unto you this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. 27 For I shrank not from declaring unto you " the whole counsel of God. ' 28 Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you bishops, to feed the church of [j]the Lord which he [k]purchased with his own blood. 29 I know that after my departing grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock; 30 and from among your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. 31 Wherefore watch ye, remembering that by the space of three years I ceased not to admonish every one night and day with tears. 32 And now I commend you to [l]God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you the inheritance among all them that are sanctified. 33 I coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel. 34 Ye yourselves know that these hands ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. 35 In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring ye ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive
please take time out if health permits Go to Church .you can go grocery shopping after Church opps thanks for reading .pray we all get something out of Church other than us out the front door .AMEN i need it dont know about you....
we all have one or two i do have a great Sunday service .

Each generation has a similar sensation. I imagine the earlier generations thought it was too easy to just turn on a stove or oven rather than bring wood or coal in and start a fire to do the cooking. And before that, it was too easy to have the stove in the house rather than outside in a fire pit. As our technology continues to develop, we find easier and faster ways to do things.

What if you have no church in your area that feeds the flock then what do you do?

As for me being more advanced in years studying scripture in my own home, but yet needing fed everyday, I consider CF my church, my assembling with others and my place of learning from each other through the Holy Spirit as we share with each other.

God's true church is what it was in the beginning as during the establishment of the church by the Apostles they met in each other's homes, caves, fields or any place that they could meet in secret so that the Roman guards would not find them. Even today the church is going underground in many countries as they face the same persecution, even to death, by those that want to destroy them.

Church is not a social club as even the Bible is not socially acceptable. Church is a place of equipping those to take the Gospel message out into the world as God has called all of ys as His servants. The world is the highways and the byways we travel as we witness and testify of Christ to the world.

I have always been told by many that I am not a real Christian because I do not attend a four walled glorified building they call "The Church". There are many of these glorified four walled buildings that are out there that will not even allow the lowly to enter through their doors as they are not socially acceptable by their standards.

James said it best about what pure religion is in James 1:27. How many are there stepping out of their four walled comfort zones that are willing to do this.

One day a neighbor and I went fishing on a Sunday afternoon. While sitting in the fish house, we began to discuss Scripture and he commented that we were essentially in a church. Where two or three are gathered in His name, there He is in their midst.

i am not in your are so i can not answer that .there has to be a church that preaches the truth . this will sit like sour milk maybe we find fault { i been guilty } that we just think its not there. there can always be what ifs and granted iam sure there are some who may not put the full truth out.. i have yet to find one //i have found those i disagree with . old time preacher man said preaching is like eating chicken .eat the meat throw the bones away. i am ordained gen baptist attend a non denom church..great feeding pastor .some of the other things i can do with out !!!

agreed %100 ALL the way i like what paul told the church elders at Ephesus in acts 20: 28 Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you [i]bishops, to feed the church of [j]the Lord which he [k]purchased with his own blood. 32 And now I commend you to [l]God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you the inheritance among all them that are sanctified. . i had to work on me saturday i did several studies and guess what he is still working on me. you can agree disagree with me . either way i will sleep just fine.. posting a message /preaching is not the most popular thing to do.. i been called i am not a witter my English skills suxs... i stand by my post as it is truth my suggestion find you a church for sunday morning attend it listen to what the pastor has to say.. my self i enjoy visiting different churches.. my latest one was a full gospel yes the preacher believes in tongues slain in the spirit.. we talked before services .he was raised southern baptist . i enjoyed and will go back

to some degree he is correct .we should be the church but even the body christ needs fellowship . i am not saying because one does not go.they are not saved.. sometimes things come up sometimes health reasons keeps us from going.. attending Church is important or else we would not be told in scriptures to go and if the attending of the local assembly in home or building set aside for thus reason . the Church would not have been formed in acts

We had two very good churches that we use to attend and they were word churches that taught truth. They didn't believe in tickling the ears, but gave as it is written. My husband and I were very involved within the ministry and even had our Evangelist license through the one church. Unfortunately they are no longer here as the lack of giving caused both churches to close their doors as they could not pay the bills. One pastor moved away and the other started a home Bible study, but due to work schedules of this Pastor he could no longer lead the Bible study.

(PEOPLE HELP MEET THE PASTORS NEEDS SO YOU WILL NOT LOSE A GOOD ONE!!!)

We tried the churches in our area, but they did not meet our needs for Spiritual growth. We being the collective body of Christ through the Spiritual rebirth from all nations are the true Church of Christ as we are one in the Spirit and one in the Lord whether you want to believe it or not. When we post we are teaching each other under the topics given, but yet it is up to each one of us to test the spirits whether truth or error is being taught, which we also need to be doing within the four walled churches.

I can only hope and pray that a true church of God would come to town, but for now CF.net is my church with many good teachers that speak truth as I learn from them.

sorry but cf net is not a church should not be considered so..i may draw down for for that.. there are good teachers with great thoughts . on internet forums you can be anything from Billy Graham to kenneth Copeland ?<groan> you can be Charles Stanley what ever you so desire sitting behind a key board .. live church is the best..

And this man is so right as how many does it take to make the church where Christ is in the midst of them.

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Since all of us are alive in CF, teaching, sharing, lifting up, edifying each other and praying for each other I pretty much consider that a true body of Christ.

I think it's StoveBolts by line if I am right, "Don't just go to church, be the church."

This one is tough because I agree with ezra that of the people who still go to church, they are looking for a quick, pick-me-up message and will happily skip if other plans get in the way. Its the wrong attitude. We should try to prevent other things from getting in the way of fellowshipping with other Christians.
It could also be a symptom of the world we live in where we can get everything delivered straight to our houses. Soon we will have no real reason to leave the house.
On the other hand, like for_his_glory points out, it has become increasing difficult to find good, scripturally sound churches in the US. I have a great church where the singing is wonderful, the preaching is always edifying and convicting, etc - the only problem is its about 40 miles away (one-way). They have live-streaming, so my family gets together to listen and we go in person as often as possible.
Its uplifting to gather together whether on this forum or in a church building.
I'm going to continue to pray for revival in this country that allows for more saved people and good churches in more cities.

Very close. We don't go to church, we are the Church.

The Church isn't about four walls. It's about when the Body of Christ comes together.

That usually happens within four walls, but it isn't confined to four walls.

Thanks as I was close, LOL. It's about the Body of Christ stepping out from the four walled church they attend and bring the Gospel message to all that they can reach out to. It's called getting out of your comfort zone and let the light of Christ shine through you wherever you go.

i am the church and i also attend the church building which is what we are told to do. all through the bible the assembled themselves together to listen to a message . there are churches /congregations worth going to .it takes effort

churches grow out of communities, which are themselves part of the larger society. Modern US society--not to pick on the US, just...its the only society I've lived in, so its what I know-- isn't what it used to be. The church reflects that. Not that the church is just part of society, nothing otherworldly about it, I don't mean it like that, but...

I dunno. I've been burned by churches and church people and "lived to tell the tale," LOL. I'm not bitter about it, not now, but I am....I guess kinda sad and disillusioned, I guess. The mainline Protestant church I grew up in never did much for me or my family. The "conservative" Baptist churches 'round here have their own set of problems. And, as much as I like many Pentecostals -as fellow Christians-...

-sigh- Pentecostal churches that I've been to are a kind of odd (to me...) mix of rigid rules and a big emphasis on emotions. To be fair, churches don't save anyone...ideally, they provide a place for the redeemed to gather, share our testimonies, encourage each other, receive discipline and discple-ing, and shine a light unto a dark and dying world. thing is...

ive never really experienced that, at all. I never fit in the community, grew up awkward and queer and weird, and then....? church people, in the past, were quite punitive towards me, actually. and to make it worse...they couched their meanness in Scripture and their "compassionate conservative" (or whatever) ideology, which...

blah. I don't know. I have found mercy and love and pity and compassion in Christ Jesus....and I'm incredibly, truly thankful, more so day by day....

but church people? especially in my area, its been a lot of labels and punishment and condemnation...

just like the surrounding community, just like the world, as a whole.

so i stay home. LOL. I don't know if that's a "constructive" approach or what God thinks of it, but...

its been -my approach- ever since getting saved, because churches--mainstream, conservative, Pentecostal, even "progressive"--have been a real, big time let down.

Where does it say that we are to attend a four walled church building?
if you dont want to attend a church because it does not meet up with your standards so be it .. o could walk you through acts showing you how they gave what they could to help form a church .they met from house to house ..they assembled them selves .. if you want to stay at home that is between you and God.. my family and i will attend church as long as we are able.
