SB....I think speaking about unity in Christianity and unity in our nation (yeah, I still consider it my nation)...
is two different things.

You're making me think and it's late at night!

In Christianity unity is possible because we agree on the big stuff.

Does the left agree with the right on the big stuff?

What is the big stuff?
Do we have the same view on the family?
On gender differences?
On financial matters?
On how to help the poor?
there's more, but you get what I mean.

I just don't think there could be unity.
The difference, IMO, is that years ago there wasn't much
difference between the two parties.
They say that if JFK were alive today, he'd be considered a
Republican.

Years ago there were some in the Dem party that voted with the
Reps on abortion issues. This is not true anymore.
Plus the Dems stick together making them more powerful as a party
and getting their agenda into practice..

I think there's too much difference today.
Do YOU think there could be unity politically?
(I'm not speaking about Christianity).
Here’s what I’m trying to get you to understand. For many Christians, they either identify as Republicans or Democrats. So you really can’t say your talking politically, and not about Christianity.
What I am saying is this. Regardless if Christians are on the left or the right, if we don’t focus on unity, we will never grow closer to God in Godly ways. We may be divided on political lines, but if we really put our focus on Gods word first, then we will be drawn to the truth. And the truth will set us free.

What I am saying is simple. Focus on Jesus and His teachings and the rest will work itself out.

How about:

WONDERING'S ITALIAN KITCHEN

I Love my cooking...as does my family.
its a bit much . three of those are one one route and I have walked(truck broke down)from the south by the di mare to south beach pizzeria, the el Dario is next to the dI mare.there's one I didn't mention west and all less then a mile apart

no we have chained our crocs and gators ,Yankees wouldn't know what to do with them if we let them loose
Well, I would know how to make a croc or a gator.
At least one way, though I know there are more.
This should be in the FOOD forum.....?

Know why Jason?
No such thing as REAL American cooking.
It's all borrowed.
Switzerland is like that too.

Food could sure unite a country!

I know I found it necessary to back off my life-long affiliation as a conservative. I admit, this election process brought out my conservative roots. But, I realize I must put them behind me and get on to being Christ centered and less politically swayed.

I gave you a like Dan.
But I don't really know what you mean.
I mean, the priests I know are either left or right.
How does one separate from the world?
Jesus said we are in the world but not of the world.
Even HE said we are in the world...this means we have to deal
with the world system....but we are made up of godly stuff instead
of worldly stuff...

well they live in lakes and canals and marshes . sometimes golf courses .

I had a photo of a mama gator I posted here a long time ago .she was watching me as i read the meter .
Did she tell you that you did a good job?
:lol:lol:lol

One got into the lake at The Floridian and killed a boy, I think.
must log off....'night.

I felt betrayed by conservatives in Texas because they covered up for the Episcopal Church. So I abandoned conservatism. This election taught me that these Texas conservative leadership were only RINOs and not really conservatives. So this showed me I was not betrayed by conservatives, but instead was betrayed by fake conservatives. This began to bring me back to my conservative roots (strong belief in the constitution and individual rights). I will always have strong feelings toward true conservatives, but realize there are corporate puppets hiding in the pack just like there are liberal corporate puppets hiding among liberals. This "swamp" is in both parties. Bystepping away from being so aligned with conservatism, I can more appreciate those from both sides of the aisle (Tulsi Gabbard) and see I need to much more closely align myself with the Kingdom. In this way maybe less division and more common ground can be found. It's either we try and find what makes us all Americans or it's time to emigrate. God help America.

I agree with GOD HELP AMERICA.
The things I've been hearing...
I mean, don't get me wrong...
I don't spend my days worrying about political stuff...
but when it comes up, I do have my opinion - as I do
about everything.

I agree that the swamp exists in both parties...
These people are power hungry. Once you get it it's
difficult to let go.

I'm for individualism too...but I see it slipping away.

If the church isn't the center of your conversation, then why talk at all?

When you're discussing the division in the country, you have to address the politics surrounding it. And the division of the country is the topic.

Your statement reveals an unrealistic tunnel vision.

No matter what the discussion, I come to it as a Christian. I can discuss any topic though the church may not be the center of it. But I do so as a Christian.

Hang on to that thought though. Because I will lay it at your feet again.
