Good evening to everyone here that I love.
With busy lives at full speed, I thought this may be a good topic to cause us to possibly slow down, and think about a little.

To me at least, love, happiness, joy and peace, are not necessarily an automatic result of becoming a believer in Jesus Christ.
All 4 can be an integral part of the Christian experience, and are available to us for ourselves, if we are willing to choose them!!!

BUT...I have seen in my many years as a believer, many miserable believing followers, who have chosen misery as a lifestyle, not as a passing result of a tragedy or loss.

After seeing that in several churches, as well as in my close circle of people, many years ago, I decided that those 4 things weren't just what I was able to choose, but I realized that they were things that anyone could choose for themselves, and bring those things into others lives as well.
So I again, decided that those 4 traits would be the beginning foundation of my character to live by, and especially be what I could come back to after trials of my own life, would happen in my future, that would up-end my life, as in my past, like most of us, and that I would have something good to come back to, that I could know was there, and I could choose from once again to find those traits I had lost through trials.
And there have been many trials, as I'm sure any here have had to deal with, and there will be many more to come, and this mindset, so far, has served me well, as it can for anyone who chooses the same, especially if you are seeking to please God, and seeking growth in the Lord.

In my experience of living and watching others, all these traits let you love life and people and yourself, as you learn to be in harmony and unity with our Creator.

All of these 4 traits have a way of impregnating most of your life, and eventually sometimes all your life, as you get older, and surrender more and more of your life to Christ.

As I age, I find myself more and more become increasingly grateful for all of life, especially close friends and family, certainly not to leave out my faith and salvation, but as people fill my life with more happiness than I can even measure.
God has blessed me with just the right people, and has removed those who didn't need to be there.
Even Jesus was very careful about who was in His inner circle.

Believe it or not, there are both believers and non-believers who are living at such a pace, that peace, joy, happiness and even LOVE, many haven't thought about for years.
If you ask, as I did several times, if they can even remember when they last thought about any of them the last time, many will give you a blank stare.

I remember at a Christian seminar, those in charge were asking questions of busy people about their life, and one woman began to cry at our table and couldn't quit.
When she finally calmed down, she shared that she had lived a very full busy life with her husband for over 40 years, and besides not noticing all the little wonderful things of life, she had never considered how wonderful her life was, and had never considered the needs of others, but what was most devastating to her was she had never even taken the time to notice the color of her husbands eyes until that night with her husband sitting there, and she was just stunned by the revelation, and as he sat there listening to her, she fell into his arms weeping and pleaded for his forgiveness, and promised to always from that time on, to try be a better wife to him, and pay much closer attention to him.
There wasn't a dry eye in the church that day.

She later shared that she was living a life too distracted and at too fast a pace to even think about the small things that give us such joy, peace, happiness, and share in the love that small things can bring into our lives, and never even thought about celebrating life as a joy, and never celebrated family or friends, by buying them a small gift or doing something nice for someone she was close to that would be joyful to them, like doing a chore or something small she wouldn't normally do..
She promise him that she would slow down and not let life be such a hectic routine and she'd find time to do small enjoyable things for him or the 2 of them together.

I really learned a lot that day about caring about people from her testimony.
I learned that life with others should take energy and imagination, planning, and when your out shopping, and you see something that reminds you of a loved one, sometimes you could take the time to get that for them as a special gift.
Sometimes it's easy to get in a hurry in life and we take everything and everybody for granted, and forget to think about others happiness, when it takes so little to say thank you for being a big part of my life.

Because of her story, I've tried to be more grateful for people in my life and tell them or show them, sometimes a dinner or just a small gift can say so much, or maybe some other small act of kindness.

I try as often as I can to tell my friends and family how much I love them, and how grateful I am, that their such a big part of my life, and how much I appreciate the Joy, happiness and peace that is in my life because of them.

We are all blessed in some way by others, and it takes so little to say it's been noticed and appreciated, and a small loving act of kindness honors God in such huge ways.

It's all about our heart, and the eyes God has given us to see those around us through it.

God bless you all.

Thank you Oligos. Very well written and thought provoking.
It makes you realise that we can get through anything and come out of it with happiness, peace, and love, if we stay close to the Lord.
I believe if we have forgiveness in our heart God will bless us with these things too.

ABSOLUTELY Tessa !!
But they don't just automatically show up after our conversion.
We have to seek them out and decide to have those things with Gods help.

It's amazing that people are so busy that they never think about such simple things, that can make such a drastic difference in a persons life, and a huge difference in the lives of those around them.:thinking.
We live in a chaotic world these days.

I love my simple easy going life.

Like this good saying goes: count your blessings!
Simple is bliss!
