....and an appreciation for all WE have been blessed with in this life.

I hope you don't mind me posting this. Sometimes I think as members here we get too involved in the intensity of our faith, and sharing it here, and don't take the time to talk about all that's around us that's good - maybe even peaceful, that takes no time to appreciate, that God has given us to enjoy, but we have to have the eyes to see it all, to give us a more fulfilling and wholesome life - a balance if you will

Most of us aren't rich in terms of a big fancy home, or a fancy vehicle, or a huge bank account,
nor a 401 k, stocks, or bonds or a wealthy portfolio. I'm not !!

Myself, I just live in a small wooded community in Oregon, and am surrounded by fabulous trees everywhere.

The richness of my life is experienced when I go on walks and feel overwhelmed by the beauty I'm allowed to enjoy that completely surrounds me wherever I turn.
Sometimes the sky right now on certain days, as the seasons change, is filled with beautiful cloud formations and is sometimes overcast, and may be even a little misty, that eventually will sometimes disappear latter in the day, as the sun breaks through, and gives us a beautiful warm sunny afternoon.
It's fall here where I live, and as warm as it still is, the leaves are turning into these unimaginable bursts of color, and as an artist myself who thinks colors are just fabulous, I see Gods hand of artistic workmanship all around me, and I feel so grateful God has given me eyes and a heart to see His fabulous workmanship in everything around me, and to know who the artist REALLY IS who created it all, and it's Father God, NOT MOTHER NATURE !!

When a person is happy in Christ, and full of joy for just being alive, I think that attitude "dazzles" your heart with all that's around you. I'm overwhelmed by the gift of my family, and amazed anyone of those close to me would choose to call me their friend, and I have the most spectacular neighbors, that are actually glad to see me - I'M AMAZED.

Am I worthy?? I think not, and when a neighbor calls out my name when I'm outside in my yard or on a walk, or someone calls me on the phone, happy to talk to me, and make plans to get together, that reminds me of how absolutely unamaginable Gods love and kindness is to all of us who deserve none of this, and I can't help but tell God how grateful I am, that in my latter years of life, I see all these blessings, and take none of it for granted anymore, as I did for so long when I was younger.

And when I was younger, my focus was different about what made me happy, and a lot of it was good, especially my family, but as I get older and have a lot of years to look back on, and can see God in so much of my life, His finger prints all over me all those years, I begin having a different perspective on life, and a deeper feeling of gratitude, not just for the big things in my life, but all the small things that help fill in my life and make it more complete.

Like I said in the beginning, I hope you don't mind me posting this.
Sometimes It seems to me, we get too involved here in the DRAMA of our faith and life, and we don't talk enough about all the other things in life that make life so terribly good, and I think at times we should.

And life is good you know. We just have to wake up each day and remember it, and PRAISE GOD that it is, then go live it like we mean it !!

Thank you for allowing me to be here.
My name is OLIGOS

By the way, I know that we are all in different places in our lives, and some here may be struggling.
By nature I'm a pretty happy person, not a Polyanna, but with the times right now like they are, for some life is pretty dismal, and downright difficult, and I hope what I shared here are words of encouragement, and that those of us in the Lord that are having a hard time, there is always something in our lives we can focus on to give us HOPE IN THE LORD.

From what you have shared I would say you have a very rich life, enjoying all those amazing gifts from God.
It is a shame that the little things often missed by people. They can give great joy.

My very favourite places are woods and the sea at night. I used to live sitting on the rocks by the sea watching and listening to the waves crashing onto the rock's below me. Woods foll my heart with joy. Walking through them listening to the birds sing and the stream rippling on it's merry way. Then just sitting by a big tree taking all the beauty in and waiting ti catch sight of a bird, fox or squirrel. Even a deer. I don't get chance to do that now but have the memories and my garden.

Thank you Tessa

Thanks for sharing your past, I love to hear people talk about how good their life is. At times some of us have to look a little harder that other times, but if you want to see something good in your life, you can always find it - even in the hardest of times.

I know. I was there more than once!!

God bless.

About ten years ago two pet parakeets escaped from a house near where I live. They originate from Asia. Nobody thought they would survive, but they are thriv9ng. We now have hundreds of them. Two are in one of the trees outside our house and they are beautiful.
Tropical birds in UK who would have thought. :lol
