It seems like I pray about almost everything sometimes, lol. More and more as time goes on that;s for sure. The Lord sure has taught me a lot in the last year or so. I notice that churches and online pastors have all sort of shifted gears lately. Messages are not like they used to be! There are a lot more good tools and info being preached all over now...almost like, God is pouring out His Spirit upon the world like He said He would! I know that the Lord uses YouTube a very lot in recent years. I have heard so many good testimonies and messages from known and unknown (to me) Pastors and so forth on YouTube that...it blows my mind that God would use YouTube like that! Wow!

But I digress, sorry. Have you ever asked the Holy Spirit to pick out a video message for you to watch? I have quite a few times, after the Lord told me that I waste too much time with worldly distractions. I have been praying about several different things lately, and the other day, I asked the Holy Spirit to pick out a video for me that He wants me to watch and learn about...So He did...or...at least, this video is what I clicked on. I watched it, actually a few times because it spoke to me, and was a very new type of video that is...wow. Apparently, this is Jesus talking to a Sister in Christ. He comes and gives her a message to post and speaks here to His Children...

Now that is saying a lot. I understand that. It sounds like Jesus, or at the least, like how He talks and the things He would say. So I wonder, have any of you Brothers or Sisters here, ever heard this channels videos?
Watch this and tell me what you think. He doesn't seem to contradict any scripture that I can tell. Does He? I don't think so.

Scripture says that the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth. And I asked Him to pick! So my gut is telling me, that this is the real deal here.
I have been wrong before, so am suddenly very curious how this strikes others?

I am going to listen to some more of this channels videos to get a better feel for it while I await my Brothers and Sisters response here...

It's not real long. Post your gut reactions to this, please?

Thank you, Brothers and Sisters!

I thought it was very informative. The main point was that we need to come to the Lord with a pure heart putting Christ above all the worldly pleasures. One thing that wasn't mentioned was having forgiveness in your heart so that your Father in heaven will forgive you your trespasses. Unforgiveness can shut down hearing the Lord speak to us when we pray and send our petitions before Him.

Mark 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Gut feeling, I have to stew on it.
Jesus sat with the sinners and politicians.
Movies?
Depends on the moral of the story...
Some make me cry and give me a good feeling!
I don't know...
Just like the song, 'Just As I am', if you clean your house, before Christ, what use is it?

Some might like it, we all have different taste.
But, I would rather hear some one reading and teaching from the Bible.
Just too many man words for me, like listening to a movie for me, lol.

Go with your gut!

Thank you, Brothers and Sisters!

Why a gut reaction?

Are your intestines especially tuned into the Holy Spirit?

How do you know that a 'gut reaction' is the correct biblical reaction?

Paul talked about retraining ones mind.
That is putting in the time and effort to read, study, learn what the bible says and the principals found there and how we should apply them to our daily lives.
There is no mention of a 'gut reaction' in scripture.

Instead of utube pick up a christian theological book and read it, or better still the bible.

Don’t you believe the word this woman put forth about being set apart from the filth of this world and seeking Jesus with all our heart, is the same instruction as the Bible teaches?

Hi Edward,
I've read books and studied about saints that write about their life and experience with our Lord.

It's all very nice, but I find them to be for THEM...I have to agree with dianegcook ... I'd rather read something biblical and get MY message.

As far as what JLB posted,,,yes, this is true, these books are biblically based and much could be learned from them.
Maybe the fact that I grew up Catholic and have ended up back with Catholics has something to do with me gut feeling...I just like to talk more about God's book than books others wrote...

Although I like them too.

before I miraculously came to believe upon Jesus--I mean, really believe--I read a lot about Jesus. Sproul, JI Packer, Frances Chan, Pilgrim's Progress, CS Lewis, and...

now, I do enjoy reading what other Christians have to say, but...now going into year 7 of being actually, really, truly saved (I cannot emphasize this enough--until -that- happened, I was just a cleaned up wretch, broken as ever, who could recite the fundamentals of Calvinism and knew a good # of Bible verses...), its more like...

"...be ye transformed by the renewal of your mind..." I think another poster may have made a reference to that verse, not sure (obviously, I'm just jumping in here).

Testimonies are awesome, when they illuminate Scriptural principles. I read and now and then re-read this one...its reputable...about a Muslim cleric, healed of full blown AIDS upon coming to believe upon Jesus Christ. And I read about Jesus visiting people in decidedly anti-Christ countries (these days, that usually means militant Islamic gov't), in dreams and in visions...

and then they come to truly believe, too, and their lives are forever changed. :)

but the world is full of cruelty and counterfeits, so I...don't read as much theology or material -about- Jesus, and I tend to steer completely clear of those who think they have a profound, brand new revelation or what have you...

because, for one thing, religion never saved anybody, least of all me. Religion mades good people better, and bad people worse. For me, religion just served as a band-aid and a crutch....

and then, thank God (!), Jesus saved me...from religion, from myself, from the world. so now...

theology is somewhat interesting, but discussions on it get so acrimonious and anti-Christian in tone, its kinda like...why all the fussin' and the feudin'? "how many angels can dance on the head of this pin?"

and other peoples' testimonies...well, the NT says we are to share our testimonies, it helps build faith and works with The Holy Spirit to make us all overcomers, so that's obviously godly, but...

discernment is called for, no doubt. plus, even devoted Christians are still human, humans are flawed and frail, and the idea is that His work in other Christians' lives, in our own lives...

lines up with Scripture and with His character. kinda like... 1 Corinthians 11:1

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:35 KJV

This is one of the things I try to find out as part of the process of figuring out whether to study someone's teaching.

Even if you don’t study her teaching, the word she gave about purity and hearing from God is sound and biblical.

To be blunt, anyone who claims that what they say has the same authority as scripture not only is lieing but they are not Christian as thy are following the devils lies.

No one speaks with the same authority as the bible.

Love letter from God, hmm. If the Bible is this so called love letter, and this love letter is the same love letter that is distributed to everyone. Then that sounds very confusing, because this love letter is not actually written for me.

I just said post your gut reaction to it because I have that on my mind lately also, lol. I do not believe that my gut is especially in tune with the HS but I do think that at times we get gut reactions that are truth for us. and I wonder about their spiritual significance.

I've not said that I think that gut reactions are the proper biblical response but would rather have gut reaction type responses here in this thread because I am not looking for logical reasoned out with the carnal mind responses either because then it would turn into an argumentative thread which is not my intent or desire.

And don't worry Brother, I do read and rely on the scriptures. But sometimes I do watch videos. Many different kinds. Testimonies, preaching, prophecy, all types. In no way to supplant the scriptures though!

My gut reaction is to reject any decession or spiritual feeling hat is only a gut reaction.
Jerimiah 17:7,“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
8 They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”

Yes,but
How do you preach , visit in prison, if you don't go there?
Jesus came to save the filth.
You can't have a candle, light, and hide it under the bed.
Who do you share it with, the saved?
The movie thing, the internet, depends on how you use it.
I do not make a God out of it.
So, I really see nothing wrong about going to the movies or use the internet.

My gut reaction is to reject any decession or spiritual feeling hat is only a gut reaction.

Who can understand it?

I can respect the fact that you wish to stand on the Lord's Word alone. It is a safe place to be. But the entirety of God's plan, this world, His children, and the enemy...is a very dynamic situation. Certainly there are additional truths circulating among the people that are written of in God's word, so discernment is an absolute requirement if one supposes to grow any and mature.

It is not hard to discern many signs of the times and season we are in against scripture. Indeed, when we open our eyes and look upon the world, we see what is happening around us. It totally meshes with scripture so naturally confirms and thereby encourages our faith in the truth of God's Word and our belief of Him.

This season of the last days that we are in, we see in the scriptures, to be a season bringing many judgments against the nations and peoples of the world. God's Word says, that He never changes. He is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow. That said, we can simply go to the Old Testament to see what we can expect to accompany these coming judgments upon the world. There are many examples for us because God brought judgement many times for many reasons back in those days.

If you notice, every single time that God was to bring a judgement...He sent His Prophets to the people beforehand to warn them of the things to come. So since God does not change He would certainly in His mercy send His prophets and messengers into the world to declare these things nowadays also. It's a dynamic spiritual war and if you don't believe that the Lord is making moves in today's world then ye must be blind, lol.

I can not find any scriptures which say to only look for truth and nowhere else at all. In Matthew 10 we see that God does want us to receive His prophets and righteous men.

41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.../

We are not supposed to ignore everything except scripture. Yes, many false prophets da da da, so it will take discernment. The only reasonable way to discern truth in what is said is by the content of the words them self and not upon the source. In that way the Holy Spirit can lead us into all truth.

I can't help but notice that, your hesitancy and rejection of this Loveletter from Jesus, has not been about the content, but because of the source. Not scripture, not scripture, not scripture is what you have been saying. Brother, I applaud you, that you hold up the Word of God. And within it, in John 16 we have to take note of that too.

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. ../

Not some truth or most truth, but all truth. So I suggest that perhaps you could be being a little short-sighted in your rejection of that video by not considering the content but merely the source?
