MILK (HEARER OF THE WORD)(DISCIPLE)
Matt 13:34-35
34 All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them,
35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: "I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world."
Mark 4:34
34 But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples.
John 16:27
25 "These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father.
26 "In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you;
27 "for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God.
1 Cor 3:1-3
1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.
2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;
3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?
1 Tim 1:6-7
6 from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk,
7 desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm.
Heb 5:12-13
12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
1 Pet 2:1-2
1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all guile, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,
2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
John 14:22-25
22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?"
23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
24 "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.
25 "These things I have spoken to you while being present with you.
26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
John 16:7-11
7 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
8 "And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 "of sin, because they do not believe in Me;
10 "of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;
11 "of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
John 16:1-3
1 "These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble.
2 "They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service.
3 "And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me.
Jude 1:19
19 These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.
(NKJ)Gal 4:1-5
1 Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all,
2 but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father.
3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world.
4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
1 Cor 13:11-12
11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
Heb 5:13-6:3
13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And this we will do if God permits.
Phil 3:12-17
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.
17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.
(NKJ) MILK THREE YEARS TO FIND THE HOLY SPIRIT QUOTING VERSES
Luke 13:7-9
7 "Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, 'Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?'
8 "But he answered and said to him, 'Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.
9 'And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.' "
Gal 1:15-19
15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb and called me through His grace,
16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood,
17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.
18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and remained with him fifteen days.
19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord's brother.

XXThere is a milk understanding of the Word and there is a meat understanding of the Word of God. And the devil is always there trying to stir up trouble. Trying to say that one or the other has to be wrong. This just isnt so. Those in the milk can only handle so much. And through sharing the Word some in the milk might pick up on the meat understanding of one verse and the milk understanding of the others verses. But the devil is always there trying to say someone is wrong, this just isnt so. We as in the brotherhood should be witnessing this to beginners(young christians).

Luke 6:46
46 "But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say?
(NKJ)

Matt 7:21-23
21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22 "Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?'
23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

Already heard your "revelation" on milk understanding.

This was posted two days ago on another board.

This was posted over a month ago on a board.

Is regurgitation a normal part of your daily pontification? Do you simply cut and paste your supposed revelations, and then sit back and watch others get frustrated with you?

There is no "study" in your Bible Study (which, incidentally, is what this forum is all about).

I am hoping that by posting links to your threads on other boards, many of the true Christians who've been saved by the blood of God's precious son will no longer engage in your mindless drivel.

Vice you said

I said
I see you cant endure sound doctrine anymore. It says to preach the Word of God, not preach your opinion.

2 Tim 4:2-5
2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Word for word regurgitations

I said
Has anyone explained to you that this is a christian forum? Christians go around spreading the Word of God. You have regurgitated that very same statement before.

Even adultsd should drink milk.

1Pe 2:1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

1Pe 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

1Pe 2:3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord [is] gracious.

Very good everyone should start out in the milk. The problem is to many have been deceived into thinking their in the meat and fighting against those who are really in the meat.

Heb 5:12-14
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
(KJV)

Well Squeaky, untill you get off the milk and get onto the meat maybe you should refrain from judgeing others!

I'm not judging others. The Holy Spirit is, all I'm doing is sharing. But I do have the authority.

1 Cor 6:3-5
3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?
4 If then you have judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge?
5 I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren?
(NKJ)

Squeaky, you are doing exactly what we are taught not to!
2Cr 10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

Judge or Condemn

Two positions:

....Judge a brother (the weak judge the strong)
....Contempt for a brother (the strong have contempt for the weak)
  • Romans 14:10 But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again,
why do you regard your brother with contempt?
For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God
    .
'Judging' or having 'contempt' for a brother, is to be 'in the judgment seat of God'.
  • Jude 9 But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued
about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment,
but said, " The Lord rebuke you!"
NASU
......R

you said

I said
Do you not know that is carnal judgment? I dont judge carnally. I judge by the Holy Spirit.

John 7:24
24 "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment."

Evan and Restin (and everyone else),

We know a few things about SB.

1) He preaches another Jesus, and therefore a different Gospel. See the following thread for reference.
http://www.christianforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=10413

2) He claims to have so-called revelations from the Holy Spirit that make him right and everyone else wrong. When others attempt to correct him, they are being carnal while he is being righteous. When others attempt to discuss with him, he apparently has the final word from God. When others attempt to define Biblical terms from the Greek, he counters with his own definitions (which are once again "right and authoritative"). The warning bells went off for me right from day one.

In searching for his posts on other boards, I've found that the most effective thing people can do is ignore every thread he creates. They slip into oblivion faster if no one responds. Besides, there are many more interesting threads in this forum that include solid biblical discussion.

edit: I see he has created a new thread on "judging." Resist the temptation to respond...unless you like being frustrated.

I said
I dont mind criticizm, it goes with being born again. But when I post the gospel and show where everything is at in the gospel it might be different than you, but it is the Word of God.
I would think because you dont prove what you say with the Word you could be revealing your own deception. That is what sanctified means the washing of water by the Word.

1 Pet 3:15-16
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.

For others:

The above quote is a perfect example of SB's nonsense. I and others have attempted to have intelligent biblical discussions with him (particularly on the deity of Christ). People have quoted verse after verse IN CONTEXT, used the Greek texts, and posed problematic questions in order to get this person thinking. Then he retorts along these lines: "I answer by promptings of the Holy Spirit. You are wrong, even if you use the Bible. Your mind and understanding are carnal. You are arrogant because you who are in the milk understanding are trying to correct me when I am in the meat understanding. Here's my definition of ______. Learn from me."

Don't waste your time...or your Bible verses.

I said
You do try to get me in an intellectual conversation. And I keep explaining that one has to get out of the Spirit to be intellectual. I dont want to do that. I am here to demonstrate the Spirit. Not to flex my intellectual muscles with the rest of you.

1 Cor 1:18-21
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."
20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
(NKJ)

1 Cor 1:25-26
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.
(NKJ)

Intellect is God given.

We are commanded to "reason". To be Spiritually minded.

We must love God with ALL our minds!

Don't trash the critical faculty!
