In a different thread, the subject of Adam and Moses came up.
StoveBolts made this comment:

I understand how your reasoning the word perfect. However, that's not how Moses reasoned by power of the Holy Spirit when he was directed to use good, not perfect

My objective when going to scripture is not to put my view on scripture, but rather for scripture to form my view. It's not always easy.

My point is this, and Strong's bears this out. Why did Moses call Noah perfect, but Adam only good?

In other words, why would I alter the original narrative from it's intended purpose?

IOW, Moses said Noah was perfect in his generation...
Genesis 6:9
9These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man,
blameless in his time; Noah walked with God.

Immediately we see that in the NASB the word RIGHTEOUS is used and not the word PERFECT.

The question that came up is:
Why would Moses say Adam was GOOD
and Noah was PERFECT ? (in those versions where the word PERFECT is used)

I've never thought of this before and would appreciate the input of others.

Noah was just.

Noah was perfect in his generations, not perfect.

This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Genesis 6:9

Noah had an untainted bloodline.

Do u know anyone who has had it?

Hi CtK,
Up north in the Milan and north of Venice, the situation is critical.
Hospitals have to decide who to incubate because there are not enough units in hospitals. Patients needing this are now being sent to hospitals in other regions. We're not at the turning point yet.

I live in a small area in a valley and felt very protected.
Unfortunately, a cab driver from here (that everyone knows) went into different cities for work and he brought the C19 back to us.
Now 15 persons have this and 3 have died, one being the father of a neighbor. The cab driver was the second to die.

We haven't been affected, thank you God. I just hope this passes because men are losing their jobs and people are afraid to even speak to each other. Stores are closed except for food, financial and medical services.

How are you and your area?

How much more perfect can one be?
Some versions say that Noah was righteous.
I thought Adam was the only person born without original sin.
Doesn't Roman s say there is none righteous, no not one?

Adam walked with God....
how are we to understand that Noah walked with God?

What does perfect in his generations mean? - regarding Noah...

Oops, my bad. I had Adam in my head when I quoted Stovebolts' text. Didn't even register that is was Noah he was speaking of. Sorry.

Still a good question.

Untainted genealogy.

Pure human genome; uncorrupted with another species.

Noah and his family were human beings, with which God would repopulate the earth.

They were not Nephilim.

JLB
But are you saying all (everyone) that came after Adam were not "normal" humans? They were Nephilim? How could this be?

What is a pure human genome?
Does this mean Noah didn't have original sin?
This would represent, at least for me, a very big problem.

Not at all.

God would use Noah and his sons and daughters to repopulate the earth, because all flesh, everyone else was wiped out destroyed.

Noah had a bloodline that was complete or pure human, untainted by any other species.

So, the question is, how did the Nephilim continue after the flood, if Noah was perfect in his generations and without the
Nephilim DNA in his bloodline?

Remember, how the Nephilim, (giants) were produced?

There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Genesis 6:4

The only way for Nephilim to continue to be produced after the flood is the sons of God, continued to have relations with the daughters of men.

Nephilim giants were not normal humans.

They were the product of the sons of God and the daughters of men.

The giants in the promised land were an example of this.

Many believe Goliath was from the Nephilim line.

There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.” Numbers 13:33

How are you and your area?
Do you have any knowledge of how the Italian medical system is fighting the virus? Are they incorporating Hydroxychloroquine in their treatments? The death rate is so devastatingly high there.

I must say JLB,,,,I've never studied this and am really not sure anyone can know FOR SURE who the sons of God are.
I DO believe that there lived giants on the earth.

If God flooded everything and then the SONS were still mating with normal women...then what was the use of the flood?

I'm afraid this goes way over my head.
Perhaps by reading along I can learn something....

Noah like all of Adams descendants contained sin in their flesh.

Noah was no exception.

Noah had no Nephilim DNA in him.

JLB
But this means that EVERYONE ELSE, outside of his family, did?
This is just too much for me to ponder....
I've started to read about this in Genesis and other verses that are mentioned in the Genesis verses, and frankly, I just can't understand it.

OK THIS I knew about...
But some believe Goliath came from a different race...don't remember too much about this...From a specific place in Canaan...

I've read that maybe the reason the place of Jesus' death is called Golgatha .... The Skull, is because the skull of the giant slain by David was buried there.

Doesn't it say somewhere in the New Testament that Adam was the first perfect man and Jesus the last?
I can't think of any verse that states that Adam was the first perfect man....

You might be thinking of
Romans 5:12
12Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—

or maybe

1 Corinthians 15:45
45So also it is written, “The first MAN, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

We only know Adam was made perfect because of the gifts God had given to him which were lost at the fall, not the least being immortality and the ability to walk with God.
