There are 3 verses that say there is more to God, and the events to come, than just what's inside the bible.

"And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen" John 21:25
"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." John 5:39
"but the word of God is not bound." 2 Timothy 2:9

If we are to believe in Bible Prophecy, we are going to have to consider history. What's prophesied WILL pass. But those events being prophesied are not in the Bible, only the prophecy. There are no iPhones in scripture, but it sure is a fulfillment of what's in scripture (Dan 12:4).

"Jesus loves me" - Show me the scripture.

Joh 13:34
Joh 15:9

However, the context was that Jesus was speaking to His disciples. Jesus bigger thing was pointing to His Father. The same love the Father loved him, His Father loves us.

Jesus did say though that no greater love a man have is one that would lay down his life.

Can we safely conclude that Jesus Loves us, if it's not directly in scripture?

History:
I think Apple was a step away from progress. Android though is what Danial was speaking about. My question was, do we combine History to validate scripture, or do we just teach the Word only?

For example, looking at the end times, and the generation leading up to it. From mid to late 1800's or even 1900's we see a major flux of new technology. Man goes 1,000's of years without cars, and suddenly we find ourselves with electric powered cars, then Henry Ford introduced to us the gas powered Engine. Combustion mechanics has not change since this day.

Interesting, scientist have come up with a graph showing that no new technology is being discovered today, just improvements on what we were given back in the 1900's. Planes are still planes, cars are still cars and computers are currently capped out on speed, with no way to make them faster unless a new technology is discovered.

Would we use this to talk about end times?

That is my question, because a whole lot of scriptures people have used to prove something, end up years later to prove something else based on what man see's in the natural. Who is to be trusted when someone says this scripture has come to pass?

Now back to my Android.

Blessings.

Hello Mike,

If I hear you right, you are saying that we should not try to make the Bible fit into whatever secular paradigm currently dominates the scene because when they move on, we are left with our arguments hanging in mid-hair.

I guess I misread your postings, not understanding the concern you were primarily addressing.

God bless!

That is what I was hinting at. Certainly the post can be taken to cover different things concerning.

History to prove out scriptures
Catch phrases that are taught as scriptural, but not in scripture.

If you examine the History of "The World is ending" you find that every century, and every movement going way back had people conclude that the World was coming to a end based on current circumstances and comparing of scriptures. As the centuries have passed, then those same scriptures get applied to the new current events.

The other part such as "I was slain in the Holy Spirit" does not have any scriptural backing.

I am not saying these things are bad, but my question is that if your a teacher, called by God, should these be incorporated into teaching with scriptures?

Many church now preach politics, going green, and things not even related to the victory we believers can have and building of faith. Often scripture is used to make a point someone has an agenda about.

A recent post here was about the Evil Roman Catholic church and how the Pope is going to make a one world religion. Very loosely based on some scriptures in REV. The Pope has no backing or money to pull off such a crazy idea. Someone has an agenda against Rome though.

Be blessed and thank you for responding to the post.

Mike.

Here's a new proverb from Rollo:

"An opinionated man is difficult to debate, but a humble man sees wisdom at his doorsteps".

Pretty short chapter, needs more.

This is kind of a straw man. Are you aware that a lot of "New Technology" is not released to the public? Are you also aware of Transhumanism? Are you also aware that "Technology" is only scratching the surface of what is knowledge? This should help pinpoint where we are at in prophecy.

Studies show that clinical knowledge doubles every 18 months, soon it's going to be minutes and seconds.

We were not given a book 1/3 full of predictions to ignore and call speculation.

God gives us discernment. We gotta learn how to use it. Line upon line, precept upon precept. Don't clump all failed claims together to say any claim is wrong. Don't be hasty to generalize things, and compare unrelated things. There are many concepts that can be abstracted from the Scriptures. Because some have been out of context does not mean that all are unbiblical. Did people think the world was ending in their time? Yes. Does that mean the world's not ending. No. People who set dates are against scripture. It's about discerning signs, not times. When we see the leaves turn brown, we know autumn is near. Likewise, when we see these things coming to pass, we have confidence our redemption is drawing nigh.

Well, I don't agree with the technology bit. The medical field is getting their butts kicked. Antibiotics have not changed, and getting weaker. We have 2 new deadly tick born viruses in My State MO. Tens of thousands still die from flue Dengue fever claimed 22,000 last year in Africa and Asia.

Below is a graph of actual usable things. Notice the decline. Graph shows actual NEW never discovered before things, not things improved on. View attachment 7049

Again, technology, albeit it is vital, it is just a small part of the picture. Knowledge doubles every 18 months, it used to double every few centuries. Soon it is to double every 12 minutes.

"Knowledge shall be increased, and many shall run to and fro"

Learn a little bit about Alchemy, Transhumanism, and the Singularity. As in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of Man. Genesis 3:5 has echoed down the line of time, and is now among the scientific world. Genetic manipulation is a sign of the days of Noah.
