Having raised a son and two daughters, I've often wondered how we've come this far. I wonder how enough girls make it into womanhood to carry on the human race. How have relatively few teenage girls lost their minds, run, and keep on running into the wilderness, never to be heard from again. How have they not taken each other out, effectively leaving us men to ourselves.

Growing up a boy, my main thought processes were: Who wants to play hacky-sac? Mom, we're out of Coke. I like meat. Happy Days is cool.

Girls plot and plot. They over-think EVERYTHING. Every decision has 10 levels of implications. Guys will call other guys and ask if they want to hang out. Yes? Cool. No? That's cool, too. Girls stare at their phones, wonder why their friend didn't call, assume the worst, unfriend them on Facebook, and seethe all night long.

That's just what I'm thinking, but it's not what I started this for. It just lays the foundation. I want to ask you dads of daughters something. Have you earned a counseling degree be being the mediator for years between your wives and daughters? How many times have you saved one from the other?

Moms... I know you've plotted the demise of your daughters at some point in their teen years. Have you followed through? If not, how close have you come?

In all seriousness, it can be mentally and psychologically exhausting keeping the peace sometimes. Who can relate?

My mom, sister and I.

One on the left....my sis
Me in middle
Mom on right

Sister and I spiritually interact on an equal level (our hands connect right where our faces are)
My mom and I don't want to cause drama between us, so our hands are connected down
My mom and sister always have a power struggle between them (hands up high)
My sis is standing on her tiptoes because she wants it known she is knows the most.

I post this because of the different power struggles between mothers and daughters. I don't like to cause problems with my mom, so sometimes I can't confront her with things maybe I should. Then their are daughters who don't like to have a mother with authority over them and they spend their days in a tug of war.

Years ago I was making deliveries to Dollar General. Most of the ones I delivered to had women managers I was friendly with.

As a joke I told them one day that I knew a sentence that was biologically impossible for them to repeat. They disagreed. They, being able and capable young women, could do anything.

"Mom was right"

And the reactions we're sometimes explosive. But I was right and not a one of them could say it.

Well it's all got to do with, women do understand each other...and they hate each other.

You better be careful though. Discussing women secrets will get a man banned lol. They will gang up on you! :chair

Women can be very vicious.

Also very loving, just don't get them mad at you

Funny but true. The pro-level teenagers become high school cheer leaders where they throw daggers with their eyes at their on teammates and hope with all their hearts that they fall and disgrace themselves. Hugs laced with disdain. Just a Dad's observation.

We have two daughters and I hear your pain!! It took a long time but I finally, well I think I did anyway, I finally got it through my head to just stay out of it. I can't fix it and when I try I end up on the chopping block!!

Good luck, man! Put your helmet on! :helmet

That's one thing I didn't have to deal with as a parent of two boys. I've been praising the Lord for that, for years, lol! My brother has four daughters, count 'em, four. That poor man. He had it rough in a house of women alone...:helmet
