[__ Prayer __] My heart is troubled

I haven’t slept very good since last Tuesday. I follow national and world events closely and the politics behind them. I’m very troubled at a lot of the results this past election. All politicians have their own interests first and none really deliver as they say they will, but in my life I really see some seriously evil people taking seats in our capital that would slide us into totalitarian rule in a heartbeat.

I have been praying for Jesus to calm my soul and help me keep my eyes on Him. To help me remember that things will never be restored and at peace until He comes back and only He will deliver us from the present darkness. That despite who wins what and how much power they think they have that He is on His throne always.

Some of you may agree, some may not (on the election results) but this is how I am at this time. Sleep is evading me as well as a clear head.

Remember me today as you commune with the Lord.

Me too, brother! And not just about politics. But remember, things have been much worse than this. I can't remember where but I think there is a story in the Bible of a new King murdering the old King when he took control. We haven't seen that yet.
God is in control!

Watching the news can be depressing. I've stopped watching it now and read the news on teletext instead. It doesn't worry you quite so much that way
I agree that prayer is the best way forward. Won't forget you in mine

These are, indeed, troubled times of uncertainty and sometimes even chaos especially politically. The war with the press continues to enhance this; so it is really hard to watch some of the news and the slant the newscasters can take or politicians can say. The only really good thing I can see is that this does make us focus on Christ alone. When I was discouraged a few months back these verses from Proverbs 4 helped me, so am sharing:
"Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Keep straight the path of your feet, and all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left, turn your foot away from evil." Proverbs 4:24-27 NRSV

please remember that when the media reports on things it is with extremism to attract more viewers/ratings to attract advertiser's dollars - bad news sells - and hyping up bad news hypes the sales

i like watching christian news because they pray about everything - and they don't have ads so they don't care about ratings - only facts

or if i watch non-christian news i pray and ask God to show me what is real and what is hype

my family either watches christian news or no news at all because they find the news upsetting too - so i tell them the news and we all pray together so that they have peace about what is going on

kim clement is so impressive spiritually - he prophecies stuff 5-8 years before it happens and the words are so exact

the guy is with Jesus now but i watched how he worships God and seeks His heart on matters and next thing he is getting visions and stuff - i have been praying and asking God what kc did to have such a deep relationship with God and accurate ear for God's message so that i can do likewise to enrich my relationship with God
