Backtracking can help sometimes.. think back and try to remember everything you've done on your machine before this started..

If you can't remember your computer can.. have you tried system restore?

This sounds radical, but it has worked for me. Immerse your disconnected keyboard in alcohol and water for several minutes, sloshing it around... then do it again in clear water to get rid of the alcohol. Swing it and shake it to get all the water you can out... then lean it, standing on end, against something out in the sun for a couple of hours. Swing and shake it some more till you are sure all the water is out. Reconnect it to your computer, and the chances are the "s" key will work again.

WARNING: Plastic WILL warp if left in the sun too long. The heat is one reason I would not use a dishwasher.

Actually, just hooking up your vacuum cleaner to "blow", and blowing out the disconnected keyboard from every open space and at all angles you can turn it, will often fix a lot of "dirt" problems.... and no drying time.

Blowing out a wet keyboard also helps to get much of the water out. And, believe it or not, setting a damp, not wet, keyboard directly under an A/C vent, blowing directly on it, will evaporate every bit of moisture, overnight.

mine work on battery. no crew at all on mine you have to imagine letter before crew and letter at end of crew
I am confident to take apart if I could but cannot

Just do not plug it in while it is wet, otherwise you will have a bigger problem on your hands.

BTW, if you have another keyboard lying around you may want to try that to make sure it is actually the keyboard and not something wrong with your computer.
