Anyways, even if the chapel looks completely identical to the way it was before you just can't rebuild history.
That's being looked into, but it looks like it was innocent.
The worker's, however, had left the site only 30 minutes prior.
1,000 churches were threatened in France last year...

How many buildings catch on fire through restoration work.

It has happened around here, some of our old building, when you include welding sparks, it could easily happen.

After the fact, they will be on the situation then....
Sparks hit some old rags or trash, maybe several floors down, and smolder awhile, then Puff.

Actually many churches catch fire during restoration work.
Mostly because of how churches are built and maintained over the years.
One in particular burned down because the lightning protection for the steeple was partially removed accidentally...and a rainstorm came.
70-80% of all church fires are electromechanical. Meaning heat/AC or Electrical system. Most all churches don't have sprinkler systems or other fire suppression systems which could stop a fire from causing extensive damage.
Church buildings grow incrementally. Meaning they start as small buildings and have added building to the original... eventually.
Meaning that there usually isn't a central fire alarm system or even smoke detectors or heat detectors or monoxide detectors. No one usually around to hear a portable one if it did sound off.
Where arson does account for a little over 20% of church fires there wasn't any scandal looking that could be hidden in a fire.
Out of the thousands of church fires candles are only related in one.
Miswired lights, plugs, fans, portable heaters account for a lot of them.

No, I don't think so, I haven't been keeping up with it either, but the fire that started in the Old building, I was talking about here, was caused by welding sparks.
